Prometheus - Part 8

Okay, so if I'm following this thread correctly, in order of quality, we have...

3. Star Wars Prequels
2. Prometheus
1. Christopher Nolan

If we make it a list of five, we can include a Christian Bale fetus jar and Natalie Portman's flat chest.

Michael Fassbender said David is all about information and processing it. He is childlike and he wanted people to question if he was sincere or not

Wheres Thors helmet?

which flavor of the month actor/actress should play every role in every movie

Jedi was two movies to me. Everything up until the Ewoks was cool. Everything post-Ewoks was the beginning of Lucas's descent into madness. If they had just kept their original plan (make the planet the Wookie home-planet, and not wimp out on killing Solo) the movie would have been much better.

Revenge? Eh.... I think the movie gets a better rep than it deserves just because it was such a step up from Phantom Menace and Attack. It didn't compare to New Hope or Empire though.

Jedi had lazy plotting and asinine merchandising crap, but it still had the wonderful conclusion of the relationship between Luke and Vader which is the driving force of the trilogy and all the Jabba stuff. I'll still take it over the excessive CGI of all the prequels, even ROTS and lines like "Anakin, you're breaking my heart" / "From my point of view the Jedi are evil!" / "Only a Sith deals in absolutes" / "No, it's because I'm so in love with you" / "She's ding of a broken heart..." / "NOOOOOOOOOO!"

Yep, I'll take ROTJ any day over all that.

Isn't saying 'Only a sith deals in absolutes' an absolute? Interesting.

Apologies for contributing to further thread derailment, but the SW prequels truly destroyed my love for the franchise. And when I thought I could just pretend they didn't exist, Lucas had to go and ruin the originals, too.

For some of those saying they don't get the movie and want to know the motivations/reasons behind Shaw and Davids actions here is a rather insightful interview with Fassbender and Rapace in which they talk about that stuff

You know it's true. I'd like to think that the PT sucking effects my opinion of the OT, but I haven't watched them since Episode III and have just lost all nostalgic affection I had for those movies.

To add another derailment, it's kind of like how "One More Day" ruined my affection for the Spider-Man character. He's just another corporate mascot to me now.

Film is a pretty mess. I hope I never see Lindelof attached to a project I'm interested in again.

T2 - possibly the best action movie ever made.

They clearly establish the T-1000 assimilates anything he comes into physical contact with.
T-1000 pokes his finger right through Sarah's shoulder and says 'call to John...'

why? You can now just call to John yourself.

The T1000 has already discovered that merely imitating voices isn't convincing enough after it failed to lure John to his foster home.

Bwahahaha OMD killed Spidey for me, too. Spider-Man 3 didn't help, either.

That's actually my favorite line from the movies. I even use it at work, if someone makes a blanket declarative statement in a meeting or document that can easily be proven wrong.

Thanks for posting that, it was really cool. It helps I'm a fan of both actors, but Rose always does great interviews and it was nice to see them talk about their characters and this story in a less-PR soundbyte environment.

But when you write that, you're also dealing in absolutes.

Hey guys, so I haven't seen any of the Alien films (shocker I know)

Will I still be able to understand/enjoy this movie just the same?

You're probably better off than those of us who have seen Alien, to be honest.

I find it funny that this film has stirred up conversation but not the type of conversation I would have imagined.

Ridley Scott did try and say it had nothing to do with Alien. It was everyone else that really hyped up the whole thing. I don't understand why the marketing department had to be jerks and give so many people false hope as to what to expect.

I plan on waiting for Blu Ray on this one since I am moving next month but I certainly hope I enjoy it.

So the focus of the story leaves a distres signal and flies off over yonder, but we don't follow her, we stay for a scene where the big guy out of alien gives birth to the ugliest baby I've ever seen. If it had nothing to do with Alien, then it shouldn't of had anything to do with Alien. Instead of staying on the planet and seeing the birth of something the film has nothing to do with, we should've followed Shaw, rather than just hearing her say, 'I want to do this,' then abruptly flying away.

You ruined the whole film for me!!!

Seriously though... if he lied then sorry, I'm just going off what he has said since I know very little about the film. I am trying not to spoil myself too much.

No it's no problem, I understand what you're saying. He was very coy about it, which I was fine with. It just didn't work that way in the film. I would've prefered it to have nothing to do with Alien.
