Justice League Real Talk - Where does the DCEU go from here? - Part 2

-Snyder is not coming back to direct JL 2 like originally planned or any other DC movie.

Technically, the article states that there are no current plans to bring him back.

Realistically, he won't come back after everything that has happened between BvS and now.

It is almost certainly a mutual feeling. Zack probably isn't coming back after all the meddling on BVS, but there's no way WB was ever asking him to come back anyway. Both this article and the earlier one from The Wrap said people in the company were screaming for Zack's firing after Batman v. Superman, and the only reason he was kept around was WB wanting to save face.

New Variety article on JL fallout
http://variety.com/2017/film/news/dc-films-justice-league-1202632214/

- Jon Berg is out, and will be moving to another WB division, WB is currently looking for his replacement
- Johns is still in
-No current plans on a separate "DC studios"
-Snyder is not coming back to direct JL 2 like originally planned or any other DC movie.
-They believe Affleck in Reeve's Batman is unlikely

Johns got demoted back to advisor status.

Emmerich may integrate DC Films to the main banner, similar to how Sony and Fox run their films. I’m not sure what that means for DC Entertainment’s oversight.

Aquaman and Flash are still on the table. But nothing on Superman, Cyborg or Green Lantern Corps.

DC Films was always a label, they weren't credited in either Wonder Woman or Justice League. WB will still have the DC logo as it's likely a contractual thing much like Marvel with Fox.

The article's just...flimsy...a standalone Flash...point movie with Affleck in it.

:huh::huh::huh:

I really really hope they prioritize a MOS 2 movie. I want so bad to see that, along with JL 2 and Flashpoint.

I still think the idea is for the Shazam/Superman/Black Adam universe to collide. I'm starting to think the next Superman solo will be set up at the end of Shazam. Suicide Squad 2 is probably going to get the Legion of Doom ball rolling, which sets up the established hero's to build up to their formidable foes in a big film down the line.

Flashpoint movie won't be received well.. if WB think that's going to make everyone happy, they are wrong again.

I think fans should know better by now how this works. I mean, we've talked about adaptions of comic storylines for a long time. Seriously, Flashpoint may be the common thread of what they are going to do with the timeline standards of what element the Flash brings to the table, but they will probably put their own creative spin on it that has NOTHING to do with the comics and everything to do with the movie-verse they tend to build going forward that makes sense. Flashpoint will probably be the title. It will also probably be the jest but I bet the farthest it'll go will be the depiction of what the story is supposed to represent. They could do their own Flashpoint that has nothing to do with how it went down in the books.

Given that Wonder Woman is quite loved so far, how will the audience take to her slaughtering and beheading people left and right in Flashpoint?

I guess get ready for evil Gal Gadot?

I completely agree with him. Dude is an alien, which explains his powers. Doesnt explain how nobody noticed that a journalist for a major media outlet looks exactly like the most famous being on the planet.

That's almost worse than a full-on reboot. What is the point of waiting that long to get a Supes sequel out? And in Shazam, of all properties? That timeline would put MOS2 at about a decade after its predecessor. How does any Superman fan tolerate that sort of incompetence?

If there isn't any movement on Supes within the next year, I'd dash any hopes of seeing Cavill come back. This "wait until the next film to see Superman in his glory!" mentality is incredibly tiring and ludicrous.

Fans shouldn't put up with it and neither should Henry. They're stalling his career with this nonsense.

They keep making bad plans on the back of bad plans.

uh... I have friends that look like celebrities... I have an artist friend that looks like Shameus from WWE and an engineer that looks like David Tennet from Doctor Who, does that mean they're secretly living a double life?

While you can easily say "Yes!" I don't care enough about them to really find out. I know that sounds bad. But I have priorities and a life... it's just the way it goes.

It's only when I start seeing my friend disappearing for long periods and starts ranting or being loud or showing signs of his alter-ego do I start to suspect.

Otherwise, the dudes are always quiet and quite the knack for their respective careers.

It's easy, obviously, to spot a big fish in a small pond. Less so when the fish is in a giant DC one.

Nah sorry the Clark kent suoerman one is the most ridiculously stupid disguise going.

It always has been always will be.

Might as well literally iron man him and just have him admit he is superman.

I hear people screaming for a clean reboot, and maybe i'd be into that idea too, but what the hell do you do if Aquaman hits and you have two popular solo films? People want to poo poo Flashpoint as a good option but don't address how a clean reboot has it's own issues "Hey remember those Wonder Woman and Aquaman films you liked? Well, screw them and lets just throw those stories ou!" It's not an easy call right now.

Just like that? I don't think he's been on long enough to have any real impact. WB are acting like headless chickens.

I agree with the highlighted...one of several reasons I disagree with any clean reboot. I also fail to see how a Flashpoint scenario would help fix or solve issues such as tonal, character traits/persona, and story issues.

Casting seems to be great & they appear motivated to continues playing their characters; obviously minus Ben. I may be alone in thinking, following JL the animated series would be a start. I kinda think Zack was using it as a model; yet still, somewhat off.

That’s why a hard reboot is a bad idea.

They need to just focus on making good solo films.

Aquaman could be seen as a new starting point if it’s successful.
Keep the actors(except for Affleck) ignore what happened previously, move forward.

Well, no, they won’t throw them out, but the more likely scenario is that they let Patty Jenkins and Matt Reeves conclude their trilogies before rebooting. If Aquaman and Shazam do well, they’ll give them sequels, but I think it’s a done deal that WB eventually reboots the entire thing. It just makes no sense at this point to try to work back up to a JL. Better to get some decent, stand-alone trilogies, see what actually clicks with the audience, and in the mean time map out a (hopefully) better strategy for doing a shared universe.
