The Amazing Spider-Man Rules for the Reboot

why are they insisting in puting MJ as the main love interest?
They´re trying to cast her for the role, that´s already been done, put Gwen Stacy instead.

I agree, but who says that they are casting MJ as the main love interest?

One of the things I'd like to see in the reboot:

Get rid of the "all about a girl" aspect. It's not all about a girl. It's all about a boy and his efforts to balance his responsibilities to the world at large and his immediate circle of friends and family and his responsibilities to himself.

Wow, someone who actually gets it. When I first heard that line first seeing Spider-Man, I wanted to just die right there. I couldn't believe how Raimi dropped the ball right then and there.

True, but probably like me, the ending to SM1 gave you some hope. Of course it did NOT last long at all. :whatever:

If something like this, I have to say, I wouldn't be hurt. And if he transformed, fine. As long as it resembles something similar to the original Green Goblin.

I would love to hear some ad, ala the Dark Knight, "See Spider-Man fight The Green Goblin" for a second film. Would just love that acknowledgment the public knows of the Green Goblin as top dog.

Total KICK-Ass approach to the Goblin. Sans the sword and the glider there. Love the gothic NON KIDDY approach this would of been.

I want the Goblin (both perhaps) to be badass, scary, psychopaths.

NO Kid Friendly Power Ranger Rip off of a Goblin. And while Dafoe's Osborn was good, I want the gloves to come off and make him truly dark.

I loved the ending scene really, how Goblin whoops his a#$. I like Spider-Man for it's first attempt. But I hate it more than I like it, being a Spider-Man fan, expecting simply more from it, Raimi and Sony's first attempt was cheesy, unexplorative of mature themes, dumbed it down, the list goes on.

But again, seeing the Goblin still gets me somewhat giddy, as a Spider-Man fan, it's nice to see it on screen. But this time around, and I'm not in favor of the Goblin in the first film, just Norman Osborn in some way, let the gloves off Sony. Please, didya see Dark Knight? Didya see how you're supposed to do the main nemesis of the superhero?

I would want the glider, not that one. And a little more techish perhaps and of course pumpkin bombs.

Yes, I definitely want a glider, I just meant sans that glider. I do not care for the rails to hold with the hands.

And I do not want the stupid skeleton pumpkin bombs we had in SM1. The razorbats were cool though.

I have to disagree with you on that one, I loved the pumpkin bombs that turned the "suits" into skeletons, I thought that was a bold move in the movie, kinda like "whoaahh". Not kiddy bravo for Raimi for that, and of course the last scene, and the pumpkin bombs and razor bats.

LOL.. Hell, he's up the "De Nile" river without the proverbial paddle. :cwink:

Yeah totally in denile. Totally in denile that MJ is the love interest and that it is set in college. Total reboot!!!!!

Wow, what logic!!! :wow:

Let's see, Raimi's version had Peter in High School, so IF the reboot has him in High School, it is NOT a reboot according to you.

Raimi's version had Peter in College, so.. again, by perverse logic (yours :cwink: ) then it is NOT a reboot.

Yeah, Brilliant!!!!... *not* :whatever:

If this movie is in High School then it would obviously be a reboot:dry:

Raimi's movie ended in college so if this is also in college and MJ is the love interest again then what signs are there that make you think this is a total reboot?

Do you understand the words that I am typing?

So tby that definition then, to be a reboot (sorry, a total reboot :whatever:), they HAVE to start at the origin. They HAVE to start with Peter not having his powers, you know.. to be a TOTAL REBOOT in your opinion.

Reboot means a whole new take on the characters and storylines. To reboot the franchise, to tell a more adult realistic storyline, and to hopefully stay truer to the characters and storylines from the comics.

Which includes having MJ as a love interest. NOT the ONLY one. NOT all about ONE Girl.

I couldn't care less where they start (high school or College) from that standpoint. Given Garfield's age and look, I think college is the better approach though.

So I guess TDK was a reboot because they recast Rachel.:whatever:

This is either a continuation or a reboot. A reboot by definition is starting over. They would have to show or mention his origins again like Batman Begins or Casino Royale or they just simply recast and continue the franchise were it left off like James Bond before Craig or the previous Batman franchise.

Is that hard to understand:huh: It is one of those two. So by making this set in college and MJ being the love interest again...what does that information tell you:doh:

It tells me you have no logic. IF the characters are the same, MJ is still his one and ONLY love interest, and is still basically a combo Gwen and MJ, and Peter is still his own whining self.. IF the characters who are dead (Harry, Norman, Ock, GG, Venom.. HELL who is NOT dead in Raimi's verse???)... are still dead...

THEN...

IT IS.. a continuation with recasting.

IF NOT... It is a Reboot.

I think that there's no chance of Peter Parker in High School given Garfield's
age though did not he get bit by the radio-active spider while in high school?

:awesome:

I agree, I think the casting of Garfield basically puts them in college.

And yes, he was in high school when bitten, but I expect his origin to be told in a flashback, and obviously the updated genetically altered spider vs. the radioactive spider will be used.

What we need in this reboot that was sorely lacking in the previous version is that Peter Parker – he should be someone we should cheer for and not just see as someone who is always down, we need see the events that affect his life and the death of his uncle to be powerful and have an affect on him, especially the death of his uncle, but at the same time, we need the fun and rise and overcoming of these powerful events.

The emphasis should be there, but we need that accurate portrayal of Peter Parker and Spider-Man too.

Thanks for restating everything I just typed:dry:

And you also just reaffirmed what I originally said in that this is looking to be a continuation and not a reboot so yes, I have no logic when you were the one who started arguing about what I said and then ended up saying the exact same thing.:dry::dry::dry::dry:

Me: The sky is blue.
You: No it is not, you are a stupid Raimi lover.
Me: The sky is blue because of how Earth's atmosphere scatters light.
You: No it's not, it is due to how light interacts with the atmosphere.
Me:

You misread the word... IF.

And please show me proof that there will be NO Harry Osborn in the reboot. Or NO Norman Osborn. Or that MJ will be the ONE and ONLY love interest (you know.. Raimi Lover that you claim I called you.. HIS main storyline... ALL ABOUT ONE GIRL).

Now to play your stupid game (yes I will stoop that low):

You: IT'S NOT a "TOTAL" Reboot!!!! *Waaah*
Me: Why not?

You: Becauseeeeeeeee
Me: Umm.. characters that are dead are back in the storyline.. ummm????

You: MJ IS THE ONLY LOVE INTEREST!!!!! (ignoring prev point like usual)
Me: Proof?

You: WAhhhhhhhhhh :woot:

Rule:

NO MORE SPIDEY DAYS IN NYC!!!!

NY'ers should mistrust Spider-Man (in general) due to JJ's rants. There should be a few exceptions, key being Flash, which plays so well since Flash loves to torment Peter, but idolizes Spidey.

To have NY mistrust/fear/hate Spidey, makes the few exceptions that do not, that much more special. I.E. Robbie, Capt Stacy, etc.

I also want some more poignant moments in the reboot. For example, have some muggers threaten (really threaten, so us the danger they are in) a Mother and small daughter, and have Spider-Man save them.

But after saving them, have the mother/daughter not trust Spider-Man, fearing that he took the mugger/rapists out for his own benefit. All due to the rants/editorials by JJ in the Bugle. Leading the mother to believe that Spidey is just another criminal in a mask.

Have the small girl espeically show fear at Spider-Man. Let us feel his pain.

Bottom Line.. NO SPIDEY DAYS!!!!

Show me the proof that there will be Harry and Norman:dry: Maybe you know something that we don't know or think you know something.

As of right now, this is not a reboot, it is a continuation.

Don't forget Aunt May too. She should dislike Spider-Man, not be giving Peter little *wink wink* speeches that imply she knows he's really Spider-Man. And on that line... make Aunt May a true 'responsiblity'. In Raimi's version, she seemed pretty capable of taking care of herself (for the most part) and she really wasn't one of the things Peter needed to worry about. For example, I couldn't see Raimi's Aunt May getting scammed by Doc Ock.

Show me the proof that there will be Harry and Norman:dry: Maybe you know something that we don't know or think you know something.

Again, in spite of everyone involved (Sony, new director, etc.) calling it a reboot. But then, I'm sure you're more informed than they are.

YOU were the one making the CLAIM that it was NOT a reboot, I am simply taking them at their word, and IT MAKES SENSE TOO. Since you are making the claim that it is NOT A REBOOT.. the burden of proof lies with you.
