Scream 4!!!!!

And one more thing. Are the spoilers being discussed(never looking at them), legit?

Yeah. I don't think Gale's death would be extremely apparent in a trailer. Anyone else other than her death maybe, but they wouldn't spoil Sid, Gale, or Dewey's deaths in a trailer.

Let's be real here. I'm calling it now one of them is going to die. All 3 of them won't. But I'm fully prepared for only one of the original 3 to make it out alive.

I agree with JustaBill. If they are truly making a new trilogy...these old characters won't stay around. New characters will strive through these new set of films. Sad but true.

Of all of them, Gale actually has the most reason to stay alive. You can do much more with her than you can Sid (who has done just about everything she can short of getting attacked for a 5th time), and Dewey. ( who always to me just kinda felt like he was tacked on.)

Where as with Gale you can have her continue to fall further into ***** mode again (since this movie apparently starts that.), start hard reporting again, write more books, etc.

It'd be really nuts if all of them died...like a broom sweeping. Bye old, hi new. It's a new decade for a reason lol.

As much as I hate to even think it, I expect one of them not to make it. :csad:

I'm hopeful that the Sid, Gale, and Dewey die. Hopefully it happens.

Isn't the chick that plays Jill signed on for a trilogy?

It wouldn't be Scream if that happened.

...because Scream is exactly like Halloween. Halloween is the story of Michael and Laurie. Scream is the story of Sidney and Ghostface. When you take out one of the main elements of the story, it suffers.

Eh. I think Scream 5 can be excellent without Sidney. In fact I'm 80 percent positive Sid won't make it out alive.

Agreed. I can't imagine Scream without Sid. She is to Ghostface, what Laurie Strode was to Michael Myers.

And if that happens, Scream 5 can only hope to be as good as Halloween 4. The best Halloween movies are the ones that involve Laurie Strode. The same will be said of the Scream movies and Sidney Prescott.

Got a good point. After they killed of Laurie(ARGH!), the series went to ****.

Just finished watching the Scream documentary (which was excellent), and I noticed a comment from Kev Williamson about an underlying theme he had in Scream 2 that I never caught before.

He said Scream 1 was about saying 'Don't blame the movies'. So in Scream 2, it was about 'Who do you blame?', and he made the killer Mrs Loomis, Billy's mother, because he was saying it all starts in the home with mom and dad.

It's at around 1:42 on it. Really good documentary.

Just because one series went to **** when the main character died, doesn't mean every series will be that way. Like they say in the trailer, "Third act, main character bloodbath."

The thing is here we have the people who created Sidney Prescott possibly sending her off and forging the path for the films. With Laurie and Halloween, the original creator and writers were gone and the actress either didn't want to do it (Halloween 4) or was just tired of it (Halloween Resurrection.)

The situation here is MUCH different. Wes Craven, Neve Campbell, and Kevin Williamson would only send off Sidney in the best way possible and then continue the series in the best way possible. The situation is nowhere near the same as with the Halloween series.

...but the end result will likely be the same if Sidney is no longer a part of this series.

Not entirely. You're not putting any faith in a VERY important fact that the characters being created to move the series on are being created by the person who created Sidney. The person who created her would be killing her and moving the series forward with out her. This is a person who put alot of time and care into the series and Sidney. He's not gonna suddenly falter because his original main character is dead. It's all part of his plan for it if she does.

If John Carpenter and Debra Hill had killed off Laurie and continued with Michael chasing someone else? You can bet it'd probably have been better than the real Halloween series. But that didn't happen a bunch of random writers with no real roots in the character and care for her or the series did it.

...and you're putting wayyy too much faith in him. Craven [INSERT NAME HERE] is more than capable of making mistakes.

Craven didn't create Sidney. He just directed her. Williamson is the mastermind of this series. Not Craven.
