  • No, he's had his time in the sun, let's see what someone else can do with Spidey

  • Don't know

  • Don't care

Oh please dont take this mastermind from Spider-Man. I really think he was the only reason Spider-Man 3 was bearable (that and im a major Spidey fan). Besides if they take him out many of the stars have said they would leave too. So no way.

I don't think Raimi is by any means the only person who could make a Spider-man movie, but he is the only one we know of that can make it, I am afraid of anyone else touching it, but i think some one can do it

With a superhero film I like what I'm comfortable with. I'm very comfortable with Sam Raimi. The only time I liked a director change was Blade 2. All other director changes have sucked. (I don't count Batman Begins)

The good news is, that sony have addressed the fact that they want to take these movies into a new, different and better direction. I'm glad that is the first real piece of news regarding sm4 because it alludes to them being made aware of the problems that plagued all 3 spidey movies and are doing something about it as to not have these movies turning into a money-making joke. This news just fills me with confidence that the franchise is undergoing careful maintanance.

My feelings exactly.

i don't want to sound like a little kid, but they need to step up the action sequences and make longer fighting sequences

Wtf? There were twice as many action scenes in SM3 then there were in SM2. Any more "stepping up" and the movie would turn into Die Hard.

I completley disagree. I once said quite a few months ago that a film has to have a story and other genres mixed into it. The Spider-Man comic's weren't all about action, they had great Stories and made it so that we could relate to the character. The Spidey film's have a perfect amount of action.

sm3 had less imo, i mean there were a lot of fights, but a lot of then were just too short for a movie thats 2 hours and 20 minutes long

There's only so much time that can (and should) be used for fight scenes. The action scenes in SM3 were shorter because there were twice as more compared to SM2.

As much as I liked Raimi's work ,I think it's time for a fresh new take on Spidey!

i coudl care less about anybody else making a spider-man film, raimi is the man! that's not to say that there aren't other great filmmakers, it's just i love his vision, it's original and he makes it unlike any other movies. he has a real passion for the characters and the cast is great. i have no problem with change but i love how these movies have turned out so far, i woudlnt' want anybody else to do it.
if nothing else, he shoudl make a 4th one with the current cast, and then as long as they 'seal the franchise' more than part 3 tried then i woudl be happy to see somebody else try...well...i'd prefer to see raimi with this cast do 10 spider-man movies, but i dont' think that's probable

i like raimi; he has good storytelling instincts (SM3 notwithstanding; though i think he was coerced, or felt compelled into adding scenes and is bad at editing his own work). with a small budget and constraints, he shines. fill him with fat budget dollars, and like many creative types, he cannot winnow the chaff - that is he won't cut the crap scenes when the studio will use them. BUT i think he's had his turn and we should look to new talent. comics routinely rotate talent. and if tobey or dunst leave, so be it. dunst was never that good anyway.
i'm not asking for the 'dark' version of spidey. in fact, depressing endings and anti-heroes are passe. SM3 and X3 both moved too far away from the core reason for identification by audiences: alienated youth.

It ain't real news but just the phallacy of real news. Nothing is concrete.

And I'll just point out that the studio that is planning to take this into a "bold new direction," was the same studio that forced Raimi to use Venom "in a bold new direction," from his screenplay not caring about what makes it a better movie.

So chances are this movie without Raimi will have a new director who will just bow down to the studio heads like a Brett RAtner or Joel Schumaucher and only care about making the most profitable product. But fanboys will find this out too late and then ***** about how great Raimi was and Vis will pull his hair out.

The internet seems to move in cycles.

And that's why I'm hoping Raimi returns. Because I fear the worst...

They weren't short, I was completley satisfied with them. Take the Subway battle for example, that fight was a really good length.

Agreed, I have been worried for a while that Sam wasn't going to return. We are most likley going to get an amazing movie if Sam stays as director.

Dont kid yourself, a majority of fight scenes in this movie were really short. The subway battle as you used for an example was like under 2 minutes. And that was supposedly the fight that was gonna blow the train fight from SM2 out of the water.

I have to agree, The subway train fight in SM3 was VERY hyped and like you said was going to be better than SM2's train fight. Isn't even close to it. I think it would've taken the place of SM2's if only it was longer :csad: Very disappointed when watching it in theaters :/

Atleast the Battle Royale and Opening fight scene made up for it IMO.:word:

Not even the battle royal was all that great. Sure, Peter and Harry did some nice team-up attacks, but Sandman and Venom were just awful. Sandman was just a slow giant and asside from the small Venom and Peter had when the were falling, Venom didn't do anything great either.

Sadly, both don't come even close to GG and Doc Ock.
