YOU FOOL!!!! What so Joker should never be in a film again because Heath Ledger is dead? HAHAHA
I agree almost entirely. The difference, however, is that these were definitive accounts of the respective characters. Hannibal Rising was based off a book by the author of Silence of the Lambs, and Lucas made the lame trilogy himself, based off ideas he already had when he wrote the first Star Wars.Much like

kind of made those iconic villains toned down
Brett Ratner needs to sort out Prison Break first. That show has turned into a nonsensical mess.
I would love to see a Joker spin off, a few years down the line though. People are saying you couldn't have a Joker film without Batman, I agree to a extent. I don't think Batman has to actually be a major role in it, but his presence should still be felt. Lee Bermejos new Joker graphic novel is set from the point of view of Jokers thug.
I would like to see a really trippy surreal film about Joker, in the same sorta mould as Natural Born Killers. Obviously not a direct copy but the same sorta style wheres its from different perspectives.
Catwoman wasn't a spinoff though, was it? It was it's own contained universe.
That's really all there is to say.**** off, Ratner.
The movie is still called Catwoman
and it is a Batman/DC character.
Either way I don't want to see Joker movie.

I did the same.Dear God. Stopped reading there.
Never understood the Ratner hate. FOX made X3 fall short of what it could have been, not Ratner.
"Why do I need final cut? Final cut is for artistes quote unquote--directors whose movies don't make a lot of money. Maybe Scorsese should have final cut because a guy like Harvey Weinstein or a studio might change it to make it a little more accessible or a little more commercial and he has a vision of what he wants it to be. He wants it to be four hours long or whatever."

what a toolbox.
why am i not suprised?
seriously have you seen his movies?
or even read the comments in question? rdj for a solo joker movie? c'mon.
and blame fox all you want but part of being a competent director is dealing with meddling studioheads.
besides, it never stopped james cameron or tim burton.
