The Dark Knight Rises Should There Be A ‘Joker’ Spin-Off Film? Brett Ratner Thinks So

:hehe: YOU FOOL!!!! What so Joker should never be in a film again because Heath Ledger is dead? HAHAHA

I didn't say that. Just don't put out a spinoff two or three years after Heath did such a brilliant job.

Fatty.

Much like

or

kind of made those iconic villains toned down
I agree almost entirely. The difference, however, is that these were definitive accounts of the respective characters. Hannibal Rising was based off a book by the author of Silence of the Lambs, and Lucas made the lame trilogy himself, based off ideas he already had when he wrote the first Star Wars.

I would love to see a Joker spin off, a few years down the line though. People are saying you couldn't have a Joker film without Batman, I agree to a extent. I don't think Batman has to actually be a major role in it, but his presence should still be felt. Lee Bermejos new Joker graphic novel is set from the point of view of Jokers thug.
I would like to see a really trippy surreal film about Joker, in the same sorta mould as Natural Born Killers. Obviously not a direct copy but the same sorta style wheres its from different perspectives.

why is he allowed to make movies?

he should just stick to making rush hour and thats it.

Ratner hasn't made a single good movie ever in my opinion. He'd better leave the Batman franchise alone. Although of course, he didn'n say HE should do it.

Agreed.

Bad very bad idea...

Remember the Catwoman spin-off movie.... :2face:

Catwoman wasn't a spinoff though, was it? It was it's own contained universe.

Brett Ratner is an ass! And should shut his filthy mouth. I hope his children's children never live long enough to see something as beautiful as a sunset. Then I hope he gets aids, finds the cure for aids, then finds out he's allergic to the cure for aids, and becomes the last person to ever die from Aids/Aids cure.

(Thats for ruining the X-Men series Ratner! :cmad:)

brett ratner............................................................................

i never eeeeeeeeeeeevvvvver wanna see ratner get his grubby hands on another superhero franchise

he had his chance, and he blew it

Never understood the Ratner hate. FOX made X3 fall short of what it could have been, not Ratner.

why am i not suprised?:whatever:

seriously have you seen his movies?

or even read the comments in question? rdj for a solo joker movie? c'mon.

and blame fox all you want but part of being a competent director is dealing with meddling studioheads.

besides, it never stopped james cameron or tim burton.

"Why do I need final cut? Final cut is for artistes quote unquote--directors whose movies don't make a lot of money. Maybe Scorsese should have final cut because a guy like Harvey Weinstein or a studio might change it to make it a little more accessible or a little more commercial and he has a vision of what he wants it to be. He wants it to be four hours long or whatever."

-brett ratner

what a toolbox.

I think Ratner should shut up and just tuck into his usual KFC mega-bucket. Maybe it'll inspire him to make a movie about a one man army chicken leg.

Keep Brett Ratner the hell away from Batman, the Joker, Superman, and any other superhero franchise before it implodes the way X-Men did once he tainted it.

What an imbecile.

Ratner's Joker film wouldn't feature Batman but rather Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker who team up to stop The Joker when he steals a priceless Marble Dragon from Jackie Chan's Uncle.

"Daaaaamn! What is up whit yo mouth man!" -Chris Tucker

Do I particularly want to see Brett Ratner direct THE JOKER? No. But the hate he gets is...eh, I suppose he brings it upon himself.

why am i not suprised?

I don't know. Why aren't you?

seriously have you seen his movies?

Of course I have. Some of them I like. Some of them I don't. What's so bad about Ratner's movies?

or even read the comments in question? rdj for a solo joker movie? c'mon.

I don't understand the issue. Robert Downey Jr. would probably have a fantastic take on The Joker. He's a very talented actor. You've got to take this stuff with a grain of salt. We all know RDJ likely won't ever be The Joker.

It's hardly that simple. The story and concept for X3 was pretty much set in stone when Vaughn bailed and Ratner came on. What do you think Ratner did that screwed up X3 so badly?

besides, it never stopped james cameron or tim burton.

I fail to see your point. It didn't stop Ratner, either. Go look at X3's performance. Fans being pissed that Cyclops and Xavier died and that they didn't get to see more than a sentinel's head doesn't X3 a horrible movie make.
