Should they make another Punisher movie?

The fight he had with Sentry in "Punisher: Dark Reign" was epic... I loved it.

I don't think they should do another punisher reboot. I like all 3 movies (the 2004 version being my favorite) but rather than a new punisher with a new origin in yet another movie that won't get a true sequel I would rather see a punisher tv series on hbo or showtime or another channel like that.

Well with Marvel getting him back maybe we can expect a.better treatment.

It'd be nice to get a direct and proper sequel to the 2004 movie with a much darker tone and grittier vibe like what Jane wanted, but another reboot wouldn't surprise me if they opted for that.

The right director with the right material could make a good direct-to-DVD Punisher film, there are quite a few recent ones that looked pretty ****ing great and not cheap looking.

Yes, 1 example does hold true for all direct to dvd movies. Seen The Tournament? Give 'Em Hell Malone? Undisputed 2 & 3? I could go on, because it's relased straight to dvd does not instantly mean it's the same quality as Titanic 2. That's as if saying all take-out food is as bad as Mcdonalds.

Hey man afterf 3 Punisher films failed all their is left other then television is direct to dvd. Give Punisher a rest from the big screen. Besides if it goes to direc to dvd we can get a sequel toPunisher 2004 starring Thomas Jane. It can be done how Jane wanted it to be. Jane is ot doing anything right now a the moment. He glady accept to dothe fim.

Not doing anything? (that's what you're trying to say right?) He's starring in a cable TV-series, he's developing a movie to direct again, He's shooting a movie right now and about to be in another. With Miley Cyrus.... but still. It's work.:oldrazz: and in the middle of that he's working on his comic book.

I think him, like any other actor, would like the film to play in a movie theater.

I hope the next film would get a theatrical release and would also be a success. The character finally deserves it.

04 didnt fail though. It made back its budget and then some and when it was released on DVD it was the number 1 bought DVD for some time. Heck, it even got a sequel greenlight.

But if another Punisher film came out in theaters it have to be another remake cause they will not make a sequel to PWZ. And how many times do we need to see a remake. They just need to do a Punisher film on direct to dvd. It can still be good and make money.

haha Direct to DVDs dont make money

If they don't then why do they make them? Your logic is flawed, they do make money, many directors, actors and smaller studios survive on them. If they didnt make money the industry would have died out long ago.

^ Exactly and thats the way Punisher has to go uless if he goes to tv. He failed 3 times at the movies. Time to try something different.

But he didn't fail 3 times. The Dolph Lundgren one went straight to video in the U.S. and no one liked it. I can't find any info on how the film did when it got theatrical release everywhere else, however.

The 2004 film did fine at the box-office(but was harmed due to opening up against Kill Bill) and did even better on DVD. It's those DVD sales that made Marvel and Lion's Gate decide to do a sequel.

That said, the 2004 film DID NOT FAIL! It's Lion's Gate that ****ed up and ruined the third one.

What does this mean? Good acting, a good story and good director can result in a good Punisher film.

By your logic, if the Punisher tanked three times, why would anyone waste their time? If you were a casual film/tv fan, aware that War Zone was a cinematic abortion, and were of the belief that the prior two films were also awful, 1. Why would you waste your money on a new, straight to DVD Punisher film? Add to that the bad rap that straight to DVD movies get, Marvel wouldn't be looking at a profit. 2. Why would you waste time watching a TV show knowing the fact that the movies sucked? If the movies sucked, why would the show be any better?

I really doubt we're gonna get an HBO show or a Showtime show. We're going to get another movie. And how that movie does comes down to the talent involved. I still don't think he'll get a straight to DVD movie though. Marvel's proven with their movies that they know what they're doing. A theatrical Punisher film is coming.

As bad as PW was there still would be enough interest in DVD sales and rentals. All kinds of crappy looking B type movies get rented.

Lets take a look at the other Marvel Direct to DVD Movies:

Captain America (Failure), Fantastic Four 1994 (Mega Failure), Other Captain America (Failure), Dr. Strange (Failure), Amazing Spider Man (Failure)

Sensing a pattern here? Or is it just me?
