I still say that changing Lizzy's color from green to black, blueish grey, or even golden tan with stripes ( a la' Lizardman from the Soul Calibur video game) could be very cool, and remove Lizzy further from any Hulk comparisons.

I like Lizard. He will be great in a Spidey movie. Even better than the Lizard will be the characters of Curt Connors and his tragically tormented wife.

I see the problem with a third villain spawned by "scientific experiment gone wrong," but I don't think the public is really keeping track of that kind of thing, and if they are, they aren't holding it against Marvel. To many non-comic fans, they just see a supernatural hero and a supernatural villain, and they don't even bother delving into origin issues. Most don't even distinguish between the stars of Marvel comics and the stars of DC comics or Indy comics. And that's to say nothing of the non-comic genre good guy vs. bad guy movies. So, as long as they've got Riddick and King Arthur and CINO and Potter and Shrek and Village and all the other various forms of good guys vs. bad guys, they aren't even thinking, "Oh great, another bad guy created by a scientific experiment gone wrong." There are lots of "supernatural" bad guys in lots of movies, Peter Parker just lives in a world where a lot of what happens relates to science.

I agree with you on the no Lizzard but not cause of his origin, just cause i think it would make for a borrin movie to have him as a villain. No communication between him and spidey, just him growlin all the time. I'd rather see another villain.

i agree the lizard should not be spiderman 3 because it would appeal to that many people. it would be hard to explain and be a disappointing way to continue the movies after the way spiderman2 was.

Well then who should be in it? The green goblin 2, oh wait he was a scientific freak too, lets not put him in it either.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this.

Did you intend to say "it would not appeal to that many people"?

Man - tearing Spiderman up just to tell him "bump."

Desperate times call for desperate measures...;)

THE LIZARD IS DOCTOR CONNERS ALTER EGO, HE IS A VITAL PART OF THE SPIDERMAN STORYLINE, HE NOT ONLY IS A GREAT MONSTEROUS VILLAIN BUT HAS A FAMILY TO BOOST WHICH MAKES HIM A REALLY DEEP CHARACTER, SO I'M AFRAID THE LIZARD IS GOING TO HAPPEN

Do not be afraid of the inevitability. Welcome it with open arms.

Hey, he REALLY meant that "bump". :D

Cool -- I like the little B&W pic from Spectacular #238 in the lower left corner.

I agree. I like that Lizard design. It's modified from the classic Lizard, but maintains most of the classic attributes (Green color, white coat, black shirt, purple pants).

For some reason I feel the need to repeat this statement about the Lizard's color that I so RECENTLY made...

*coughREDUNDANTTHREADcough* :D

Poor "The Lizard" - it's come to various forms of "bump" now to keep the thread going. You have my sympathies - I've been there, done that...if I ever think of somethin', I'll definitely post it...now if I could only think of something Lizard-related to post...I think most of what CAN be said HAS been...oh, well...

DON'T GIVE UP HOPE!!!

I like that look OK, but personally I hope they don't over-do the teeth thing like that (It looks like a shark head) and like Macfarlane does. I prefer the Romita, and IMO, more "Lizardy" look of teeth being there, but more subtle. THe way Macfarlane drew him (and admitedly I'm not a fan of his) makes the character look more like "THe Alligator" than The Lizard.

True -- lizards have lots of little sharp teeth, not big shark teeth, T-Rex teeth or snake fangs.

A movie Lizard needs to look threatening, but not in an "Alien" or "Jurassic Park" kind of way.

I still stand by the 3 phases i posted a few pages back.

Here's one - should he have poisonous saliva?

(I DID come up with something legitimate!!!:D )

that kinda belongs to the incredibly unoriginal and overrated villian known as Venom.
