they really do have to tie up whatever venom storyline they introduce in this movie one way or another so i disagree with you on that ending
peter could be having a monologue and we see dr connors giving peter a call to come quick...something's wrong...peter starts swinging over to see him and he gets a look at something terrible going on below (lizard action) and swoops in to help as a final swing/kick
the ending is so darn predictable that it doesn't matter what people WANT

which ending is predictable? they have to give some sort of teaser or cliffhanger (well they don't have to, but i'd like it) the same way they showed harry finding his dad's stuff in #2...set up the next movie or something...anything! bwah!!! i don't want to wait until may...grrrr

the actual ENDING is predictable
Peter and MJ have a scene, then we cut to Spider-Man swinging into the distance as the orchestra blasts some fantastic chords

i'm fine with a long swing, at the end....butat least he can be heading somewhere that is a cliffhanger or teaser for a new villain!

This paragraph posted by Advanced Dark about licensing just caught my attention...

"At Sony Pictures, plenty of gear for Open Season (Sept. 29, 2006) was on display, next to yet another bunch of penguins in Surf's Up (June 8, 2007) and the eagerly awaited Spider-Man 3 (May 4, 2007 with Thomas Haden Church as Sandman and Dylan Baker as The Lizard). At Marvel Entertainment, Fantastic 4 met The Silver Surfer (July 2007) as Ghost Rider (Feb. 16, 2007) lights the torch for a series of independently produced and financed movies that are kicking off in 2008 with one (or more) of the following heroes: Iron Man (Jon Favreau of Elf and Zathura), Incredible Hulk (Zak Penn of X-Men: The Last Stand), Ant Man (Edgar Wright, Shaun of the Dead), Captain America (David Self, Road to Perdition), Nick Fury (Andrew Marlow, Air Force One) and Thor (Mark Protosevich, Poseidon)."

"Dylan Baker as The Lizard" ?!? ... What does this reporter know?

The person who wrote that blurb knows nothing.

He probably googled some old article that mentioned that Dylan Baker was returning as Dr. Connors in SM3 and then didn't do any further research.

the writer of that article must get his info from IMDB :p

I don't see why people are making a big deal about COnner's... at most we might get the references... bu I think it will be hinted at only slightly if at all...

Eddie Brock Jr. said:
why? he didn't mention Aunt Carnage

i wonder if someone in the movie will describe a situation in the city as pure carnage...just for a reference

Lizard....all our differences aside.....I think you'll be most pleased at the end of the Spider-Man movie. Honestly.

I have a feeling. They're not going to reveal the 4th villain until the movie actually comes out.

And I have a good idea who it may be due to his heavy involvement in this movie.

Here's hoping your hopes and mine are correct, scaly one.

LORD WHY OH WHY AT THIS POINT in the film production, when we know who the villians are, would ANY1 talk about lizard? you people...i swear

if the lizard was in it at all he would probably only make a cameo.i dont think the lizard is in the movie.

I know he's not going to be in spidey 3. but if they decide to do spidey 4, I would love to see the Lizard .

Who knows what you will get at the end of spider-man 3. Did you know Willem Defoe was going to be at the end of part 2? No, I didn’t think so.

Some things are left out, to surprise you. Sam's got a few things up his sleeve.

The Lizard will appear.
