The Lizard won't be in the same movie as Venom.

It would be like having the Shocker and Electro in the same movie - different villains, but the concepts are too similar.

Wha? Shocker and Electro could ONLY be in the same movie for that reason. Having them as a team or something would be the only way to go, since having them in separate movies would seem too repetitive - like having Carnage in a separate movie from Venom.
The Lizard is not that similar to Venom at all...he's not really a bad guy, just a scientist that got too ambitious. He's not an alien and wasn't once bonded with Spider-man. He's a sympathetic villain, whereas Venom is basically an evil alien on top of an evil guy. I think that Lizard COULD make an appearance as a teaser in this film at most - I don't think that he should be a main villain along with Venom.
Oh lord imagine if they had the symbiote bond with Lizard...that would be ridiculous. Or would it....hmmmm....

I'd say Venom/Eddie Brock is more misunderstood/vengeful/insane then pure evil. We are suppose to sympathize with Eddie when he goes to the Church to ask God to kill Peter. Obviously, as we have seen through the comics and cartoon, that he has been through sh itty times (ex. losing his job, girlfriend, being evicted from his apartment). Therefore, I think its a little unfair to call him "evil alien on top of evil human being". But because this is a movie, of course Venom is gonna be considered 100% villain with no heroic attributes. Another thing to remember too is that many a time Venom has been allied with Spider-man and has done "some" good deeds. However, I agree in that relating him to the Lizard makes absolutely no sense. They are on completely different spectrums. Maybe not CGI wise, but story wise and character wise.

asking god to kill someone does not make a character sympathetic
it makes them pathetic
IMO

the rest of what you said makes sense, tho :D

Yeah, it does sound evil but we are supposed to feel sorry for him with his life and the way it's heading.

i suppose we haven't seen the movie yet - so who knows what the set-up will feel like for that scene
but the thing with venom is that brock has the same chance as peter with the symbiote...use it for good...don't give into temptation...or use it for evil and revenge and lose control of yourself
peter obviously goes the heroic route and gets rid of the things that could turn him into something he doesn't want to be
eddie embraces it as a new power and tool for destruction and personal gain
regardless of the situation leading him to that decision, it is still a decision to be a bad guy
whereas the lizard transforms by accident and as far as i understand it, he doesn't want to be bad and has no option to just be a normal good guy..he can't "shed" the lizard skin with a belltower or anything..i imagine the lizard's plotline would eventually be him searching for a cure while he's normal and being unaware of his actions while he's the lizard

What...after all this "sympathetic villain" talk? We should all expect by now, after seeing Raimi's treatment of Spidey's world in two films, not to mention his previous work, that his films are full of sympathetic, believably-motivated characters. He made us feel bad for Norman Osbourne and Otto Octavius. IMO, Brock gets dealt an even *****tier hand.

I don't think it's going to be seen as a "use the symbiote for good/use the symbiote for evil" dichotomy. The symbiote is a means to power, and power corrupts. Eddie Brock, a good man, gets totally shafted, and is powerless to do anything about it. One of the real world's many voiceless victims. The difference is, after stewing, fixating, scapegoating and self-pitying in the manner that quite a few of us would in similar circumstances, he unexpectedly does find his way to power. What does he do with it? Well, we all know the answer, and this is why Venom is an interesting (and sympathetic) character.

if the lizard is in spiderman3 at all [he isnt though] he probably would make an appearance at the end of spiderman3.

Nah. If there should be a sm4 Lizzard is the main. And three pluss symbiote spidey is enough for a spiderman movie.

I agree with this completely on how it should be dealt with and I misworded my sentance. All apologies, but yeah. Just look at Green Goblin and Doctor Octopus. Both are supposed to be evil and what not but really they were both just corrupted.

As for the Lizard, yeah, I really don't see an appearance at all happening but I would hope for maybe a midway through the movie appearance. Nothing huge, maybe just a split second cameo or maybe just a shot of the serum.

The way the general public and the Hollywood suits would see it:

Lizard = big toothy monster villain who can duplicate most of Spidey's abilities

Venom = big toothy monster villain who can duplicate most of Spidey's abilities

The fact that Curt Connors and Eddie Brock are totally different characters would mean nothing - it just comes down to the fact that Lizard and Venom would be too much alike in action onscreen.

same here he would be in spiderman4.

The Lizard is not in SM3 and I don't think he can hold his own movie...hes not a supervillian nor is terrible close to anyone main character but Parker. Electro, Scorpion, or Kraven would go great with Lizard. The Lizard is a dark character that creeps around at night...you need a day villian that is spectacular and puts off a good show to go along with Lizard.

he would go great with them he does need a good show to pull off during the day and at night.

Dr. Connors experiment will come to fruitation at the end of this film. Just as Norman was impatient. Curt Connors will be as well, and will pay the same price as Norman and Otto.

Dylan Baker is a fine actor, just look at him here.

Exactly. Anyone who thinks the Lizard will be in SM3 just got

Well, I can fix it, if it's too sad, to a better picture.
