i agree...not that he actually SHOULD do this to get ideas for a movie, but because i'd like to think i have some kind of input in something so cool as the spidey films...sigh....one day...

here's another idea for a storyline
JJJ hires someone called Kraven to track down spider-man once and for all
kraven gets close but encounters the lizard who is the obsessed dr. connors
kraven decides to add the lizard to his collection of trophies before moving on to spidey and then it's up to spider-man to bring the lizard in safely before kraven finds him
so spidey can have whatever lesson we've already talked about, but this gives a bad villain and a "good" villain in the story that could justify a feature-length film
spidey doesn't want to hurt dr. connors, but lizard is going crazy and is being hunted (successfully) by kraven so spidey has to throw him off his hunt
alternatively, kraven could be called in to hunt the lizard and then sees spidey as someone in his way since spidey is trying to help dr. connors
anyway...all good ideas for the "raimi readme" thread!

GG - Great Power, Great Responsibility (he misuses his power)
Doc Ock - Sometimes, We Have To Give Up What We Want (he had to destroy his creation)
Sandman - Battle Within (he supposedly has a family to support)
GG2 - Battle Within (he doesn't want to avenge his father, or does he?)
Venom - Battle Within (let's face it, he is the physical form of all of Spider-Man's flaws)

kraven: personal gain outweighing moral standards and guidelines
-he wants his trophy and doesn't care how he gets his own satisfaction
-peter could become a glory-hound in the media's spotlight after beating sandman and venom and start posing more for the camera instead of finding the people who need him
-he can also face an issue already mentioned that ties him to dr. connors's obsession with defying nature while kraven hunts IN nature...
-this is also two misuses of nature...both for personal gain instead of respecting it and helping others
-spidey can learn all these lessons somehow

Maybe the dangers of obsession, or fixating too much on something.

Connors: obsessed with finding the cure to his arm, and it cost him dearly in becoming the Lizard.

Kraven: Obsessed with "the hunt" and maintaining his pride. and it leads to his humiliation and death.

Spider-Man could be obsessed with....MJ, or trying to avenge something, or whatever to complement this.

good call on the themes...and to keep kraven in the thread, wicked!
i really do think that there needs to be someone hunting the lizard that spidey would have to keep at bay while still fighting his friend the lizard in order to make a lizard-viallain movie work
otherwise it's just spiderman chasing the lizard and trying to get him to stop without hurting him too much...he needs someone who is really evil out there as well, not just another completely sympathetic villain that everyone hopes gets saved in the end...people want someone's head on a platter by the end! at least, i do

and i assume harry has that battle as does peter
they can all also be linked to the power/responsibility theme if you want, as well
