This movie looks very cool, i'm adding it to my list of must see for sure :woot:

Whoa...I didn't expect this. It actually looks really good and not "twilighty" at all. If the trailer is any indication then I'm watching this.

Does anyone remember that darker Snow White movie with Sigourney Weaver? This reminds me of a cooler version of that.

That's true, and it's certainly a better trend than turning board games into movies.

Still, Snow White going Joan of Arc is kind of a stretch.

Yeah, that is a tad unusual, but in today's day of age, it's more interesting than just having her as a damsel in distress type. Also, this story is a LOT darker than Disney would have people believe. It had been a while since I read it and I didn't really remember the Huntsman stuff, so I went back and looked it up. The queen pays the guy to cut Snow White's LUNGS out and give them to her. That's some coldblooded sh**.

if they wanted a different snow white emily browning would of been ideal but she just played an action heroine in baby doll

In the original version, she wants both the lungs and the heart, to bake and eat.

Why did people expect it to be like Twilight? because Kristen is in it???

How's that any different to him cutting her heart out and giving it to the queen?

Everytime theres a romance and a dark setting nowadays people are scared its gonna be like twilight. This looks way cooler than twilight since it has a story and a scary atmospere.

Lol I had to quote you. Its not really different at all infact cutting out the heart and delivering it in a box is worse. Disney is crazy like that.

Twilight was dark? Surely you jest.

Not really dark but moody kinda foggy setting. Not exactly dark,

I think it's Kristen Stewart.

Personally, based on what I saw so far, she doesn't really fit. I'd feel the same way if it was like Ellen Page or a CW actress.

It's just hard for me to believe they could be fairer than Charlize Theron.

One problem Is trying to buy the Idea of Kristen Stewart being viewed as more beautiful
than Charlize Theron.Just too hard to buy.

I remember that movie, and I actually saw last night that it's on Netflix to stream.

Quick poll, who would some considered equal to Charlize in looks but is in Kristen's age range?

Haley Bennett, Amber Heard, Imogen Poots, Katie Cassidy

These popped into my mind.

I've read the first draft. It's great. This really has potential to become a good franchise. However, there's already a few differences I can pick up from the trailer alone. Here's the summary, anyway.

Snow White (Kristen Stewart) is the young daughter of King Magnus (Noah Huntley). During her childhood, she falls in in love with Prince Charmant (Sam Claflin), son of Duke Charmant, her father's most trusted knight. After Snow White's mother (Liberty Ross) dies, the King marries Ravenna (Charlize Theron), a beautiful Gypsy girl who was forced to leave her village and marry him. Before Ravenna left, her mother, a witch, made her invincible using a potion of the blood of the fairest of the land, who, at the time, was Ravenna. That means that only the fairest can destroy her. As punishment for helping the King to capture her, Ravenna orders Duke Charmant and his son to leave the castle.

Snow White grows into the fairest of the land, and, upon learning of this through the magic mirror, Ravenna orders her men to kill the King and Snow White, but she is able to escape and hide in the nearby woods. Ravenna orders her men to find Eric, the Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth) and have him capture Snow White.

Eric's wife, Sara, was murdered by a shapeshifting white wolf, and he's obssesed in killing it ever since. He captures beautiful young women and sells them to Ravenna's men, who lead them to the castle, where Ravenna imprisions them in a steel sarcophagus that drains them of their beauty and youth. Ravenna drinks a liquid made of it to maintain hers. Eric and Ravenna were once lovers, and she convinces him to capture Snow White by offering to tell him the white wolf's wherebounds.

Eric captures Snow White, who discovers what Ravenna promised him, and reveals the white wolf serves her. Ravenna reveals that Sara was once the fairest of the land, and, not having discovered how to extract somone's beauty at the time, she ordered the white wolf to eliminate Sara. Infuriated, Eric destroys Ravenna's device and escapes into the Dark Forest with Snow White, vowing to take her to Prince Charmant, who, upon learning of her disappearance, leaves to search for her.

Ravenna's men refuse to enter the Dark Forest, so she sends a team of mercenaries led by Eric's old rival Finn (Sam Spruell) to kill both. Unable to survive alone in the Dark Forest, which is filled with magical creatures, Snow White is trained by Eric. They eventually arrive at a small village ruled by Anna (Rachel Stirling). All women have disfigured themselves to escape from Ravenna, and give the two shelter, but Finn and his band locate them and a battle ensues, in which Eric discovers that Snow White is the only one that can defeat Ravenna.

The two escape and take shelter with Eric's old friends, the Eight Dwarfs Caesar (Ian McShane), Nero (Steven Graham), Constantine (Bob Hoskins), Hadrian (Eddie Marsan), Trajan (Ray Winstone), Claudius (Toby Jones), Tiberius (Eddie Izzard) and Augustus (Nick Frost). They were once hunters who were exiled from the kingdom by Ravenna, who manipulated Eric into betraying them and helping her, and now work as miners in the Icelands. Eric tries to convince them to help him attack the castle and destroy Ravenna, while Prince Charmant finds Snow White and they reunite. Eric and Charmant become rivals, with Eric insisting that Snow White must stay and fight, while Charmant tries to hide her in his father's state.

Their plans are interrupted by the arrival of Finn and his men, who have joined forces with dark fairies. In the ensuing battle, Eric discovers that Finn is the white wolf, and that Ravenna intents to marry the ruthless King Bloodaxe, leader of the Dark Army. If that happens, darkness will sweep the lands. Meanwhile, Charmant defeats the Fairy Captain and August sacrifices himself to destroy the other fairies. Snow White, blaming herself, decides to commit suicide in order to stop Ravenna's pursuit, but Eric stops her and tells her what he had learned from Finn about Ravenna's magic. Believing Eric to having been using her to get revenge against Ravenna, Snow White runs away while Eric and Charmant butt heads.

One of Finn's men returns to the castle and tells Ravenna of what happened. She uses sorcery to transform herself into a hideous old crone and creatures an apple poisoned by dark chemicals. She then transforms into a flock of ravens and locates the delirious Snow White. She offers her the apple, and, once Snow White bites it, she dies. Ravenna reverts to her normal self and leaves for her wedding. Meanwhile, Eric is convinced by Charmant to depart with the Dwarfs to ambush King Bloodaxe's wedding caravan headed for Ravenna's kingdom, while he searches for Snow White, carrying an old Dwarf healing potion with himself. He eventually finds her and drinks the potion, which he passes to her with a kiss, awakening her. They declare their love for one another and ride to Duke Charmant's state, where the Prince demands horses and men from his father.

Meanwhile, Eric and the Dwarfs are captured by King Bloodaxe and his men, and Eric is imprisioned with the many women he sold out. He apologizes and helps them escape, giving them weapons stolen from Ravenna's men. They raid the castle and release the dwarfs, confronting the soldiers while Snow White and Prince Charmant lead Duke Charmant's army into battle against King Bloodaxe's and Ravenna's combined forces.

Prince Charmant, the Dwards and the women fight the Black Guard while King Bloodaxe escapes and Snow White and Eric confront Ravenna and the Mirror Man in the throne room. Eric is mortally wounded destroying the Mirror Man, and Ravenna overpowers Snow White. As she prepares to stab her with a mirror shard, Eric takes the hit, allowing Snow White to stab Ravenna in the chest. The spell undone, Ravenna sees her true, decrepit appearance and dies. Charmant and his army defeat Ravenna's soldiers and force King Bloodaxe's men into retreat. The battle is won. Snow White tearfully says goodbye to Eric as he dies.

The kingdom has been rebuild, and all women who had their youth stolen by Ravenna are returned to normal. Snow White and Prince Charmant get married. During the cerimony, she shees Eric, but, after looking back again, all that's there is a white wolf watching the castle, with blue eyes and a tail. She smiles.

but to be fair kristen is not ugly she has a more unconventional beauty and i think it fits well with the more darker tone they are going with

prior to Twilight, people thought Kristen was cute due to Into the Wild.

It's just the visceral dislike for Twilight that kinda blinds some people.

I was rooting for Felicity Jones or Emily Browning but I Kristen can pull it off.

BTW the movie looks awesome. The CGI and design are awesome

I've started sticking up for her recently because of all the hate she gets, unfair hate simply because she was in a crappy franchise and because she's not comfortable in the spotlight. The girl has potential.

Until The Hobbit comes out, of course.

Well in LOTR my favourtie character was Aragorn, yes I am kind of old fashioned in that I like that type of hero, and The Hobbit does not have one, so The Hunstman may be more in the mould of lead hero I like in this kind of movie.

Well once you cast Charlize you are kind of making it hard because she is arguably at the peak of her considerable beauty, so while Kristen is well cast as a Snow White in a grittier take, you could argue they cast too beautiful for the Queen.

However I'd say Victoria Justice or Ashley Greene would have fit well, but I think Kristen is pretty in her own right and the idea of fairest of them all is based on more than mere looks in the case of Snow White.

Not to mention much bettter SFX.

I think this is what has put a lot of people off, they mistake her awkwardness and shyness with aloofness and find her weird.
