Snow White and the Huntsman

From a dialogue standpoint the trailer was built almost entirely around the Queen, Hemsworth only had one line, and I think the posters are to establish to the male audience early that the male lead is a badass manly man and not another emo 18 year old looking boy.

I'm not at all a Kristen Stewart hater, I think she just gets a bad rap sometimes.

However, they put no dialogue or really any good scene clips with her in the trailer. Why not?

Looks like they are just trying to really push Hemsworth as the hero and main star. There are already billboards for the film here in LA and they all feature Hemsworth and not Stewart.

It's a good marketing move. Girls and young women will already want to see this movie, just knowing that K-Stew is in it (plus a familiar princess fairy tale). The movie doesn't have to do a thing to convince that audience to see it.

They do have to convince boys and young men to see this movie, especially the ones without girlfriends, which is why trailers are focussing on Chris and Charlize.

I guess these actors are the dwarves (pre-CGI, that is).

Yeah, they don't need to market to girls with Snow White in the title, and Kristen Stewart is so well-known (thanks to her Twilight movies) that she needs no introduction. However, they really need to advertise this to the male demographics if they want to make tons of money, and Hemsworth is just hot off his success with Thor, so making him the focal point of their early marketing campaign is a good idea.

I'm pretty sure this isn't the only trailer that will ever be released for this film. And I'm not defending K-Stew because frankly I don't care for her as an actress. I'm just saying lets wait and see if none of the trailers feature her performance.

To put it more concisely, anyone who is going to watch the movie because of Kristen Stewart are already aware of the movie. Moreover, pushing the male characters to the forefront not only helps draw in male viewers, it helps draw the female audiences who are yet to be convinced purely from Ms. Stewart's inclusion through the presence of male 'eye candy'.

Hey, you don't have to tell me twice: Bob Hoskins, Ray Winstone, Ian McShane, hubba hubba!!

I do like Chris Hemsworth, but the part that interests me the most is Charlize Theron as the Queen.

Also, I'm not trying to hate on Kristen Stewart, but I really don't see her competing with Theron looks-wise. They're not in competition at all, IMO. I also think Theron is a better actress.

Yeah, I'm not all that into Kristen either, but I know some people (guys and girls) who are fascinated by her looks and acting, and not just Twitards. I don't really get it, but to each his own, I guess.

Charlize is going to have a great 2012 with this and Prometheus.

Yeah, it's nice to see her back in the game, as it seems like she took a bit of a hiatus or something. But lately she appears to be choosing much more exciting projects/roles than right before her little break, so maybe it was exactly what she needed.

For a while there she kinda fell into a rut of fairly similar, angsty/somber roles. She was good as usual in them (or the ones I saw), but over time that just starts to get a bit...boring. This film, Young Adult & Prometheus seem like the most interesting projects I've seen from her since, well, her stint on Arrested Development, I guess.

Agreed. The critics are raving about her Young Adult performance so she's ending 2011/starting 2012 with a critically acclaimed performance (maybe even another Oscar nod?) and then following it with 2 blockbuster movies. Prometheus will definitely be good and even if SWATH turns out to be crap, she still has the meatiest role. :woot:

She's been a little under the radar the last few years, it will be nice seeing her in some high profile work again.

^Yeah, and lets face it, we can never get enough Charlize to look at, or I cant anyway. Her role in this looks superb though, and the film has had me really intrigued since the first trailer, Hemsworth being involved is interesting as well as in both ST and especially Thor he is great, I hope it turns out as great as it looks.

There's a cool new shot of the Queen in a different crown and a very nice shot of Kristen smiling, as well as some brief new battle shots. I think putting the Mirror Man at the end was a good choice as it's clearly the money shot of the trailer, but they truncate the scene shown in the US version, which is a bad call.

I don't have enough regard for Kristen Stewart to really hate her. (I've seen none of the Twilight movies.) I did enjoy watching her in her recent appearance on Jay Leno. She really came alive when she told the story of punching Chris Hemsworth in the face.

I reviewed the U.S. trailer on my page here (and yes, I wrote it before the Mirror, Mirror trailer went live): Trailer Watch: Snow White, the one with the armor

Looks pretty good.

Almost entirely sure that Theron and Hemsworth will be the highlights along with some of the other supporting cast members.

Kristen Stewart may have had potential at one point but her acting has been getting progressively worse. She's more jittery in every new role I see her in.

she is only 21 she has plenty of time to improve and i dont think she is even a bad actress

They promoted this quite a bit last night on Top Chef where Charlize was a guest judge.
