The Dark Knight So could our TDK mesh with singer's Superman?

I don't think Nolan or Singer would be able to do it.(not that they don't have the talent) They would be on as consultants maybe, but someone new would direct I think.

I just think it'd be such a tight rope to have to walk. And, consider the fact that you CANNOT.....NEVER....please BOTH Batman fans or Superman fans. You'll only end up pissing one faction or both. You just know people will complain about screentime too.

This film needs to take place at the end of both their careers in order for it to work - at least IMO.
I agree it should be a film that almost celebrates the long histroy and friendship that the pair have had with each other. Any historical encounters could be done in flashbacks.

I think the only time we should see them together is in a JLA movie.

I think that a Superman Batman movie would have to open the door to a JLA movie.

Let's face it - Nolan's Batman rocks, Singer's Superman does not rock, and if Superman doesn't rock as much Batman, then they just can't be together.

I <3 Singers Superman

Brandon Routh IS Superman. Period.

TDK being meshed with Singer's abomination? Hmm. No, I can't see it working.

What if they did an adaptation of one of the SUperman/ Batman arcs from the comics? Absolute Power and Public Enemies were both great, imo.

But I certainly don't want the Singerverse SUperman anywhere near Nolan's Batman.

How does the Singerverse Superman conflict with Nolan's Batman?

I think the fanboys who hate SR don't want the new Batman franchise to be tainted with a "gay" subtext and "de-masculize" Batman, as it were with the prospect of a Bats/Supes film. I can understand it if it was Joel Schumacher, but Bryan Singer is a more competent filmmaker.

BTW, hasn't anyone who's not a SR-hater realized that a Batman/Superman movie is about their worlds clashing with one each other, and that their unity is only based on mutual cooperation, that they all fight for the same goal (albeit in much different ways)? The realism of Batman and the light fantasy of Superman has made for some interesting Bats/Supes storylines.

As in the very first reply to this thread, the prospect of a good Batman/Superman film is the script and the director chosen as well. But I think Singer is going the wrong way (if he ever ends up directing the film) by making Batman the villain and Superman the good guy. (Well, maybe make it seem that Superman initially sees Batman as a bad guy, but then realizes he made a mistake.)

I do NOT want Metropolis looking like Gotham. I do NOT want this movie to look like The Prestige or like Batman Begins.

That said, I still think you're right. Wally Pfister could do it.

Production designers overlook the overall visual scheme for the film (as well as costuming, set design and other crew-related duties), and as far as I know cinematographers are mainly in charge of lighting to emphasize moods of the scenes they're shooting. Nathan Crowley (production designer) and Wally Pfister have worked together on Batman Begins and The Prestige, and the visual scheme for both films looked similar.

Or if they could work together, Newton Thomas Sigel and Pfister could collaborate on the film in order to maintain visual continuity for both aspects of the film (there are some films that have two cinematographers, BTW).

i agree with this, i'd rather have wb set up all the old skool ja characters first, flash, green latern etc and then make justice league the movie and then bring them all together. if done right, wb would be just printing money:batty:

this will never happen

superman returns is set in some kind of 1940s esque world, Begins is in todays world ,the character dress like its the 21s century. Besides i never want to see batman and superman togehter in any kind of live action event. It would make fun of the batman character, and make superman seem like a joke Imo. super Alien teaming up with a rich man in a batsuit would make for great comedy though.

You weren't watching SR if you think it was set in a 40s type setting. The only thing "old school" about the film was some of the architecture, which is a blend of old and new building styles...exactly how Metropolis is supposed to be. Otherwise, everything else in the film is very modern.

No one's forcing you to. Don't watch it, I'm sure WB won't mind a loss of 10 dollars. :o

Yeah, as we clearly saw in the World's Finest movie. Man that was a joke.

The only thing is you can't adapt a version of animated film into live action... Lex Luthor was different in the toons... the plot just meshed with that sort of Luthor... movie Luthor is a little more tricky... not to mention Lois Lane... who is completely different in Singer's version... its not the same characters we are dealing with here... but the toon did a magnificent job

We'll see what Singer does for the sequel. I'm in the opinion that SR didn't completely butcher these characters, and there's still time to save face with proper tweaks.

What exactly is your point here? Is there something in particular about that film, that can't be translated to live-action?

Of course. If I had my way, I would have an aminated Batman anthology
series on HBO, that was rated R that would produce previous comic stories as well as original stories. Then crime noir with some Spawn thrown in for the tone and look of the series. Most stories would be from Batman's perspective but also from Bruce Wayne's, Gordon, Alfred, and public as well as some of his rogue gallery.

1.Batman useing a jetpack
2. billionare Lex Luthor giving the joker and harley 2 billion dollars to kill superman.
3. Batman running away from a giant robot, witch fires laser beams.
4. Lois Lane dateing bruce Wayne
5. Joker stealing Lex Luthors expensive air ship, to destroy all of metropolis
6. Harley quinn
7.The Bat-plane
8.The entire plot of the animted movie.

I can name many more things, now maybe if you make Batman like he was in the 90s movies this can all be over looked easily.
