Sony’s slate is less diverse and while it is moving ahead with spinoffs and a sequel to Venom, the future of Spider-Man is unclear. Holland, sources say, has an option for one more movie while director Jon Watts is done with his two-picture deal and is free to pursue other projects. "The big test will be two years or so from now, when an eventual Spider-Man movie is made," says the Sony insider.

That doesn't say that he's out per se. It just says he's fulfilled his contract and can pursue other projects if he wants. That doesn't say whether or not his intention is to pursue other projects or come back.

This is an odd comment. We don't know whether Sony wants him back, whether he wants to come back, or anything of what's going on with that other than he's fulfilled his contract. I get that we hate Sony, but just replying with rawr Tom Rothman evil rawr just does nothing to advance anything. Can wet just stick to things we can price and stop just taking pot shots at people for no reason?

He might. Or he may try to get Watts back. The initial report indicated that was their intention, so that would indicate their interest in keeping him. We just have to wait and see

feige has always cared and we are beyond lucky to have him, it shows because that's why the MCU is so successful

He's already worked on 2 Spider-Man films. I doubt he did that without at least meeting those people.

Ok he’s probably met them at movie premieres but they were never his bosses, both films were marvel studio productions with Sony footing the bill. Arad was barred from set if memory serves me correctly.
