Comics Spider-Man Noir

I actually haven't picked up my copy yet. I will pick it up either tonight or tommorow.

That was an awesome read. Very interesting world, through the eyes of Ben Urich. It's a twisted and very dark atmosphere. Peter is portrayed as an angry child, instead of the usual quite nerd. It works well with the world he's in. Nice reinterpretation on the bad guys too, looking forward to why Norman is called the Goblin. As for the Vulture cannibalizing Uncle Ben, that's seriously messed up!

Very good script and nice art.

"I show you my birth certificate and you show me your liquor license". Awesome stuff Mr. Hine

Really looking forward to the next issue, and hopefully the Spider-Man action!

Yo, S.Zero! That you from the old newsarama in the ol' Spawn thread? How you been, good bro? :woot:

Thanks for visiting the Hine board. He responded to your question.

Fine :D

Kinda disappointed that MJ and Gwen won't be in this, here's hoping for a sequel!

Much better than I expected. Really looking forward to #2.

I just read the first issue and this was really good. I love that it's the same artist from Magneto:Testament doing the art. I'd love to see this become an ongoing. :)

I really like this first issue. Good way to introduce the story. Kind of makes up for the poor and obvious story of how Harry came back in ASM.

Just finished reading this. Real good read and I love the cover.

I really enjoy this first issue too. I wasn't really expecting anything when I started reading it but it definitely makes me want to stick around. I am liking that they are really mixing things up in this world. I really enjoy what they've done with the various characters being placed throughout this new universe. Digging it.

Man, why is this only 4 freakin' issues?! I loved this. Issue #2 that is.

Peter's eyes are opening up more as he's getting more entwined to this dark and gritty underworld while Urich is getting at least a bit of hope due to Peter's hope to things getting better. Things go to hell, though, when Peter finds Urich high on heroine. This sets up the plot of having Peter get bitten by the spider that eventually gives him powers. This time it's a spider bite from a spider that appears out of a magic African mask. And that two page spread of Peter and that mystical spider was just damn freaky and horrifying. This is a definitely a page that every one will have to see. The artist was fit to draw this one specific and haunting scene. Pete, with his new found powers also gets a new found hope to go after Osborn. This is when Pete discovers his mentor isn't what he claims to be when he noticed Urich on the scene. He walks away from Urich while Urich decides he's done with Osborn. I won't even mention the cliffhanger because that's just... wow! :wow: And Pete finally puts on his Spidey suit. Oh boy, now the full on ride begins! :word:

Yeah, the short length of the mini series causes certain parts of this issue to be rushed.

But issue 2 was really good too. More depressing stuffs, and the scary spider bite. Loves the 2 pages of the 'Spider-God' too. Peter now has the power and decide to pay the Goblin a visit, but then learns something horrible about his so called mentor. In the end Peter puts on his custom, while Ben has a change of heart and decide to do something right....and then the twist comes...and I didn't see it coming at all!

A wonderful issue!

Aloha,
They are going to HAVE TO continue this story somewhere down the line. Very well written and kept me interested until the very last page.So far, I like this one better than Reign.
Spidey rules

Other than the sort of stupid way Pete gets his powers (setting the stage for "The Other" and "Mr. Mephisto Re-Makes the World"), it was a groovy issue. Spidey's not necessarily an easy fit for the noir genre, but they've done a great job of it thus far. I like the idea of Pete as a crusader and that he gets his costume from Uncle Ben's WW I fighter pilot's uniform....

Absolutely loved the issue. Love the story of how he got his powers, very typical of the noir/pulp fiction. Can't wait for the next issue.

Just curious, do y'all prefer the original covers or the variant? Which ones did you get?

This series is freakin' awesome! This one is definitely up there with Spider-Man Reign in my book. They should make the Ben Urich character like that in the regular Marvel Universe, heh.

But all in all, they really have done a really good job with everything. The artwork, writing, and characterizations. Top notch!

Wednesday's taking too long to come! I want it now! :csad:
