Why is everyone hating the whole Fantastic 4/Spider-Man idea?
I think it's brilliant.

fortuantely every one of these I've seen or is part of pop culture.

Everyone hates it because it's so obviously another attention getting, sales-boosting scheme. They do these things from time to time and they last a little while and then go away. What's the point of even caring in the first place?

Sorry but this suit looks amazing, you can all hate just because some minor nitpicking things, but it looks amazing
yes, that pic is a very nice manip now imagine how much cooler it would have been to have that look with the classic design.

Explain how? I'm being sincere, in case you thought otherwise. Even if Spider-man on the team isn't your cup of tea, I don't see how it could be "bad." Neutral, sure, but to be bad suggests to me it has to be hurting something--which it isn't.

Really, considering the relationships Spider-Man has with some heroes in the MU--especially his longstanding friendship with the FF--it's actually completely absurd that it took him as long as it did to get on the team. I didn't think it would be a good fit originally, but having read it for a few years now, it's turned out extremely well, and more than that, I now think Spider-Man belongs on the team. It's been a long time coming.

If "I don't need to read the stories in order to know they suck" is really your philosophy, I guess there's no helping you. It's really your loss, in the end.

I'm not saying "Marvel is great, you should love them!" There's no doubt that OMD was crap, and that some of the stories that have come down the pipe have been bad--but an attitude like "Marvel wants everything to suck, so I hate it before it even comes out" is just willful ignorance. There are a lot of different creators doing a lot of different things at Marvel, and a lot of them are outright fantastic.

I'm not denying that. Marvel usually announce some so-called major, earth shattering announcement that's going to happen and 9 times out of 10 it's bull****e. My logic is supported via extrapolation. Killing off Johnny Storm, forming a new super team??? the premise by default is already uninspired and smells of bs to me.

Of course it's b.s. , nothing more than a desperate attempt to make money. I'm sure Johnny will make his "shocking " return by the end of the year and then we can rejoice.

He was repsonding to spida-man's comment by dying "and Spider-Man 3 isn't any good", while spida-man thought it was (and I thought it was awesome as well.) So, it really does sound like he's stating it as fact.
thank you hero.
Nice to know you got my back.."now i guess I'll just worry about my front"
(special spidey brownie points to the first person who knows where that quote is from....it should be fairly easy)

How is him saying that SM3 is bad in response to spida-man any worse than spida-man saying that SM3 is good, "despite what ppl fool themselves into thinking?" That sounds just as matter-of-fact, but in reality, both are opinions, and neither should have to explicitly say it.

Because I've seen ppl act liek they are purposely trying to find reasons to hate that film just so they can fit in with those who don't like it..the silly "ainti-SM3" bandwaggoning

it's stuff like this that makes me think "the suit might look cool in the film"

hyzak, u need a friggin job doing stuff liek this for MARVEL. seriously...

This might sound messed up but I might just go to Barnes and Noble or my comic shop and just sit there and read as much as I can.

Used to do that every day after school back in HS. I saved a crap load of money and that way bought the issues that I found really good.

Might just start doing that again. :funny: I'm so cheap.

HEY! I use to(and still do) the exact same thing! I'm surprised nobody ever came up to me and said "this ain't a library..you gonna pay for that book?!"

Same here.

I feel like they garner some sympathy because they probably get the gist of my situation.

Some kid sitting on the floor with a skyscraper stack of comic books. "Oh I see, whatever". Especially in recent years as print and comics in general need more sales. Guess they figured if we give them this huge sample they might like a couple of them and buy them.

Don't worry, I'm sure the rest of the team will make a deal with Mephisto to bring Johnny back to life and everything will be fine

Its not even just about the death of Johnny that pisses me off. It's the cheap shocks and lame ass "huge" events that Marvel put so much effort into telling crappy and pointless stories. It's more a matter of creative principle I suppose.
