The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man Reboot Costume Part 4 - "What's that in his eye??" edition

Honestly, in the new pics the costume doesn't look that bad at all. It retains more of the original comic book design then any of the Batman film costumes have. I do still find it annoying that they basically changed it for the sake of changing it, but I think it actually looks pretty good.

People are still having trouble seeing this as a reboot, so maybe it would've been better not to change the costume at all. Still, for what it is, I think it looks nice. Some people seem to think it looks bad because it's not like the original. Does that automatically make it bad? Batman's original suit is hideous (very 1st) but no one complains about the changes they made to it over the years...I dunno, I like change as long as the changed product looks nice.

Wow, alot of people who actually think that comic strip that was written is fact is just ignorant. You guys do realize that Sam's original plan was to have Gwen be captured, right? You guys realize tha the only reason Sam made Sandman an accomplice of Uncle Ben's killer is to bring out the dark side in Peter, right? Sorry guys, but the Symbitoe storyline is what made Sam have to change his original vision of the film. These are known facts.

Didn't know that Raimi still wanted Sandman to be the real killer...so either way, Spider-Man 3 would have been dumb. That's nice.

^^ Then you've been wrongly informed, man. I don't mean to start anything, but I do remember that you were very excited about S-M3 before it came out.

Hey, if anyone said they weren't excited for Spider-Man 3, then they would absolutely be lying because the Hype was huge, but then the movie actually came out.

Wait...Sam wanted Sandman to be the killer? Like...that was his personal idea that he LIKED? Ergh...I dunno if I can back him up anymore. That was one of the biggest problems with SM3...:csad:

That's what S-MH12 made it sound like. Maybe I could be reading it wrong, but, I hope that wasn't Raimi's original idea.

Is that the Lizard in his eye on the the second pic that Galactus posted?

(I'm being serious, I'm looking at these through my phone)

Well, even though Raimi's costume was awesome, it definitely wasn't perfect. I mean, it always looked kind of chubby and the raised webbing sticked out maybe just a little too much. So maybe it would've ultimately been best if they just kept the old suit, but you can really see of the new costume that they truly tried to make a way better costume this time. The over designing made the new costume lose some points, but it definitely looks more dynamic and the webbing is way bette

I think it might. It's hard to tell. It's green and sorta scaly looking, but there is no noticeable shape.

I like the new pics. The costume looks more vibrant than what I was expecting, which is a good thing if you ask me.

I still like the Rami suit more, but this one looks good, too.

It's so nice to have an aunt May who doesn't look like she could die offscreen before the sequel.

But that's how Auant May was for years in the comic books. Years.

No, yeah, I realize that. But once again, this was at a time where only the heroes and villains should be empowered by any means. Everyone else was supposed to be weaker or dulled down.

Aunt May was weak until she died in the early 90's, lol. That's a long time after that phase was over.

Yeah, but you don't suddenly change a character like Aunt May over night. Haha! That's why Aunt May is so different in USM.

True, lol. I always loved the weak Aunt May though. Her death was retconned and she was brought back into a weak/very strong hearted girl. Especially during the JMS/JRJR run. This was also shown a bit in S-M2 when she hit Ock, lol.

Yeah, I'm thinking that's why they killed her. Just to bring her back as a "new" character.

I think that part in SM2 was more for irony purposes, but you're right it did show strength and courage.

costume still looks like crap, it's over designed and and changed for the sake of change.

i can understand why they wanted to change it to make it look different from the previous but the look and pattern just dont work

It's probably one of the worst re-designs I'v ever seen, including the snow bat-suits.

It just doesn't have webs. I mean, webs is an extremely important part of what defines the spider-suit and they simply went with straight lines in a random pattern. It looks like made by someone who barely saw one or two illustrations of Spiderman in his life and didn't even bother to watch them again while re-designing.

And that thing they did with the red zone under the back of his head is awful. It's simply like they ran out of space for the back's spider so they made that awful-looking indentation that serves absolutely no purpose but looking bad and unprofessional.

Can't imagine a movie that's so good so I get over those things. I really hope I'm wrong though.

I think the webs were like that because it's easier to animate, like how in The Spectacular Spider-Man, he had very few webs for that same reason.

The back thing is weird. It barely phases me, like I don't even see it unless I concentrate in it. I'm surprised it bugs you so much.

I'm even more surprised that it can ruin the movie for you.

And yet Raimi did it right. So I guess it's easier but not impossible. So, what's the real reason behind it?

I mean, I'm sure Superman's cape is hard to animate. I just hope they don't give me a capeless Superman just because it's easier to animate.

If you have a perfectly clean white carpet with a black horrid spot on it, even if covering 5% of it, will ruin the whole thing.

That's the thing with ugliness, no matter how small, it tends to attract. And, at the same time, detract.

I'm even more surprised that it can ruin the movie for you.

Give me a light green bat-suit and I'll have problems enjoying the movie.
