Only to us fanboyish geeks, so yeah, you're right, it matters little!Luckily, in the grand scheme of things, the suit matters little.

That along with the omission of the belt which separated everything nicely is one of the more head scratching design choices for the new suit.
This costume will always feel like those alternate suits he wears for 10 issues or so and then dumps them out for his original Ditko one.
That's not necessarily a bad thing as I like a bunch of Spider-Man alternate costumes but my love for the original design will always trump those any day of the week.
Luckily, in the grand scheme of things, the suit matters little.
I knew that would happen. TASM's suit is still a Spider-Man suit. It is red, blue and has webbing on it. It is not pink, or purple with 8 legs. Therefore, it matters little because he is still recognizable as Spider-Man.
Yeah, tomorrow Batman could be pink, Superman capeless or Hulk could be red-skinned. People wouldn't matter.

Lol!Yeah, tomorrow Batman could be pink, Superman capeless or Hulk could be red-skinned. People wouldn't matter.
This is recognizable as Batman yet still horrible in every way. Just because something is recognizable doesn't make it "matter little". To the TAS costume credit it isn't anywhere near as bad as the B&R costume but the point stands.

Because they know that we're going to show up in theaters regardless of the changes, just like you did with all the changes in Raimi's films, and pretty much every other comic book film. What the hell is going on with the gloves? Why the hell do the webs become random lines in some places?

Isn't that what I said and proceeded to get crucified for?
In some ways you're right. Yet, the suit comes a hell of lot closer than The Dark Knight's suit, talk about ugly suit, and it's now the comic book movie to beat for the masses. We'll see how this Spider-Man film holds up in the end, I like most of what I'm seeing/hearing.Changes, yes. Now some of them ahve been good, some of them terrible. And in the end it shows.
But seriously, I have the feeling this movie is going to be very very good regardless of the suit's ugliness. That will obviously help.

Yet you think the TASM suit is too far from the comics because of "unnecessary changes". LOL The Nolan suit is the definition of unnecessary changes.
I don't even mind it that much because it's an acceptable adaption to the real world. But to be up in arms about the changes made to Spidey's costume and then to turn around and say, "Oh yeah but I like The Dark Knight Batsuit." is blind ignorance and hypocrisy.
