The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man Reboot Costume Part 4 - "What's that in his eye??" - Part 5

I don't even mind it that much because it's an acceptable adaption to the real world. But to be up in arms about the changes made to Spidey's costume and then to turn around and say, "Oh yeah but I like The Dark Knight Batsuit." is blind ignorance and hypocrisy.

Have to agree with this.

I don't see the problem there. He probably just thinks the TDK suit looks good enough, but still don't like the new ASM suit. Nothing hypocritical there if you ask me, even though I do not agree with him. I love the ASM suit.

Yet you think the TASM suit is too far from the comics because of "unnecessary changes". LOL The Nolan suit is the definition of unnecessary changes.

I realize that it's strange coming from me, and it sounds hypocritical. The reason I was fine with the changes from the comic book version for Batman is that I'm perfectly fine with a visibly body-armored Batman, because he's only human, and cannot dodge bullets. He does wear personnel armor in the comics, but's usually a more subtle type. So really, the TDK suit just capitalizes on that.

Spider-Man is a different story. Spider-Man's costume isn't meant to be functional. He doesn't usually wear body armor because he dodges bullets. It's flashy spandex, and little more. And most of the changes to the design don't serve to make it more practical or functional.

No it's perfectly acceptable to like one and not the other. The reason it's hypocritical is because he always says the TASM suit takes, "unnecessary departures from the source material through unnecessary changes".

Uh...has he seen the TDK suit?

I'd argue there are less changes in the TASM suit compared to TDK suit.

And Godzilla, that's such a cop out.

They could have made it look a lot more like the comic suit and still have an armored look. Look at the suit in Arkham City.

Exactly!

as for TDK suit, I'm not a big fan of it myself. Keaton's Bat suit is my favorite, but Spider-Man's suit has unnecessary changes in this film. It's that simple, IMO.

But would you rather they gave him a (in some people's opinion) a radically different suit soley for the purpose of giving him a new suit... or would you rather they gave him a radically different suit with an actual purpose behind it?

Besides, it's not like he's running around in body armour. He has shoes, the soles of his feet didn't become super tough when he was bitten by a spider. l0l.

I quite like how his gloves have cushioned pads too.

And this isn't aimed at you, but I hate how some people are acting as though this reboot suit isn't a Spider-Man suit at all. It's still represents Spider-Man a lot more and better than TDK/TDKR'S suit represents Batman.

hahahaha SMH12, That's not simple at all.

"It's okay for Batman to completely change his suit, but it isn't okay for Spider-Man because...it's not. IT'S THAT SIMPLE!"

As VenomSpawn said, Arkham Asylum/City made a hugely faithful suit while adding body armor...

Yeah where did the body armor on Spidey come from?

I like the look of The Dark Knight Batsuit, even with the changes, while I think the changes to the The Amazing Spider-Man suit made it look ugly.

They could have made it look a lot more like the comic suit and still have an armored look. Look at the suit in Arkham City.

I realize this, and I do agree. I'm not saying that I don't think that a more comic-styled Batsuit could work. To the contrary, I advocate for a more faithful Batsuit in the upcoming reboot. I'm saying that I think the TDK suit works for a Batman design.

Exactly!

Personally, I prefer the The Dark Knight Batsuit to the Keaton Batsuits, but I agree with the rest of the post.

Feet and like 30% of his palms = body armour, duh! :oldrazz:

Hahaha! Sounds like a bad excuse to "hate" on the new suit.

"It looks too practical for Spidey, they're just trying to rip off Nolan's Batman!! Too much change!!!"

"In what way?"

"Spidey has........BODY ARMOR! *points at shoes*

""

And I'm not saying that a faithful Batsuit couldn't be armored. I guess I'm a bit more flexible with Batman, since I grew up with both the Burton films and Batman: The Animated Series simultaneously.

This would have been an awesome Batman costume.

Get rid of the awful blue tinting on the black areas, perhaps darken the gray a bit, maybe change the ears a bit, and I would definitely agree.

I'm saying that the changes aren't to emphasize functionality.

Well, they are and they aren't. They serve two purposes. Strongly emphasize that this isn't related to the previous franchise by using a different design... and things like leaving the shoes visible = emphasize on the "functionality".

Can you please show me where the body armor on Spider-Man is Godzilla? :)

I think he's referring to the little studs on the soles of Spidey's shoes O.o

Many of the changes that I personally dislike have nothing to do with functionality (like the overhauled glove design). And I still don't like the shoes.

I never said the new suit was body-armored.

There isn't any body armor.

I thought those pads on his palms were for when he presses on them and his webs shoot out?
