^^^ it's probably been mentioned before...I've only just now thought about it -I'm usually just shaking my head when I see the gloves, lol.

I had always thought the suit looked that way for a reason. To me, there's a reason for the webshooters being out in the open, the way the gloves look and even the "shoes". It gives the suit a more simple design, but also with some intellect to it. Such as the webshooter...perhaps, it's outside because some have the same thought that I do...how does the webbing go through the suit?

:funny: I always had this thought in my mind when watching the Raimi films.

They didn't just have to go through fabric, the webs also had to go through that thick, raised webbing.

But I let it slide because it's ****ing Spider-Man and that version wasn't meant to be realistic.

Well, in the cartoons and some comics, the artists show a nozzle sticking out of the glove just behind his palm. But I guess the way their thinking is, by having the entire shooting outside the suit, it allows for easier access to replace web packs.

I remember the VERY first promo image of spidey showed a nozzle for the webshooters sticking out of the suit. Always bugged me that they disappeared.

Really? Could you find that picture for me? I'm interested in seeing that.

Holy crap, i just thought of why they designed the palms of the gloves the way they did.

Look at where the red stretches across his palm. Almost looks like padding or a different material to the rest of the suit...It's exactly where a web line would go when holding it. It's possible that he's got a material that the webbing doesn't stick to well/padding for his palms so they don't get sore after hours of web swinging...

I thought that the pads would cushion his hands when he lands heavily on hard surfaces and stuff... but I like your explanation so much more.

See, that's something that always bugged me. It's something I let slide with a cartoon, but for a movie, I need to know how in the world it works out, lol. That's when a "realistic" take is useful to let the fans know how things work instead of just being.

To me, realism is more than what describes movies such as The Dark Knight. Realism is to show how things work, how they make sense.

A nozzle indeed makes sense when it connects to the webshooter, but I definitely like the webshooter being outside of the suit.

I tried. Can't find it. I used to have it on my old computer back in the day. Perhaps someone else may have it.

This is one of two of the first images from SM1. The second one had his perched on a ledge with his hand pointed towards the camera like he was gonna shot a web. Sorry I can't find it. Google is useless sometimes.

Edit: This is the best (re: only) version I could find. It's hard to see, but it's there.

No problem. :woot:

I vaguely remember that photo. It's still awesome.

In my search, i found this cool, undoctored promo photo.

That's what I loved about this costume.

Whether it was an actual set photo or an official one the costume looked great regardless. No post production embellishing needed.

I remember stumbling on it at like 2am on a school night. 9th grade, I think. Had no idea they were making a spidey film. I was floored.

Heh, yeah. I remeber thinking it was the greatest thing I had EVER seen.
