The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man Reboot Costume Part 4 - "What's that in his eye??" - Part 5

In the original Spider-Man teaser, they used a costume with big eyes on it.

Needless to say, it looked goofy as hell.

Looks kinda goofy

Do you think they were going with macfarlane styled eyes there?

And the ironic thing is, those still aren't as big as the McFarlane eyes are in the comics. Honestly though, that look just wouldn't work in real life. I love it in the comics, but it's one of those things that doesn't translate too well.

I agree, though I don't like McFarlane's eyes even on paper

Big eyes would look nice, but just like underarm webbing, it would look weird and out of place on film.

I disagree. Maybe not exactly as big as the Ultimate or McFarlane eyes, but something long those lines would work.

Another bad thing about the version of the big lenses (the one that VenomSpawn posted, the one that was scrapped, thankfully) is that the black framing isn't thick enough, making it just look weirder.

I really either want to see the sinister style eyes or the Ultimate style (or something very close to them) in a sequel... or the next reboot.

A manip I did a while back, I agree that they are a little big (but hey, they're Ultimate lenses) which gives the mask a little cartoony look... but I think something along the lines of this (definitely a little smaller) would be cool to see and would work.

I would have loved to see that, but I'm satisfied with what we have.

I've always like what mcfarlane did to spidey. He gave him big eyes to bring out more of the "bug" in him and put spidey in weird poses to bring out the "spider"

I think its a smart idea. When he's spidey, let him actually be SPIDER- man.
When he's pete, let him be the character we all know.

I like the poses, not the remake of the costume, same goes for the webbing

lol.

Considering the webbing Spider-Man swings on looks the same/is an EXTREMELY silly thing to complain about/wouldn't fit in the costume thread...

I'm guessing he's talking about the suit's webbing.

I forgot what thread I was in lmbo. Im multi-tasking.
Spidey threads/ batman: arkham city

Its not as easy as you think

Better than raised, silver webbing.

Sure, it doesn't fit the normalities of what webbing is supposed to resemble, but it's much more classic than raised webbing.

that looks like Spidey BIG Curious bug like eyes!

the eyes just need to be spaced a bit more apart and that would look Awesome if they went with that look.

heres my crude manip of your manip using windows paint :)
i widened the eyes and pushed the jawline and nose out more

I'm not a hater of the new costume but i'm not all for it. it looks kinda creepy and not really bug like, the eyes are too close together, too small and too high up on the mask imo which is only that.
he looks like a spaceman or something.
I don't know why they didn't attack the comic and go for a more wide eyed curious fun bug eyed look that modern Spidey grew to have.

I prefer the edited eyes from the side, not sure if they'd work in frontal views though.

I don't love the eyes right now. They look a little too awkward. I don't hate them, but they can be better, either bigger or still small.

If done right, big eyes and underarm webbing would look badass...

Also I REALLY don't get why some ppl hated the raised silver webbing in the raimi suit.

It looks soooooo effin cooooool.

It really gives the suit character, and a cool uniqueness that stands out.

I however for the sake of the black suit in SM3, would have preferred if the red suit had raised black webbing that was reflective, similar to how some promotional art has it like this:

and when the light hits the web design its reflective like how the MTV show did it:

and then for the black suit have the webbing be silver.

but in all honestly i don't understand the hate for the silver webs..besides i think I read somewhere when designing Spidey back in '62 They wanted silver webs but couldn't create the look obviously so thats why the webs were black
