Star Trek Beyond - Part 4

I’m... actually down with this, assuming it would be “a Trek movie directed by Tarantino” rather than “a Tarantino movie with Trek characters”,

I have...no concrete idea what to think of this. Leaning towards "hell yes!" though.

You don’t wanna see Kill Kirk Vol. 1? :o :oldrazz:

I'll believe it when it's shooting.

Weirdest news I've seen in quite a while. Hope it happens.

Kirk... it's your ba...*phaser blast*

Damn, that came out of nowhere. Remains to see what (and if it) happens, but I love it so far.

Maybe we'll finally get a proper interesting new Star Trek movie.

This is exciting. **** that idiotic Kirk meets Kirk story with a blowtorch.

Hopefully this isn't akin to his Casino Royale idea where he tries to recreate something than do something new. I want a fresh Tarantino ST film idea.

Yeah it was just a bad idea from the get go. Case in point, that announcement gave them no momentum and no one cared. It just felt like they were desperate to get some interest in Beyond by already announcing a sequel that wasn't going to happen.

Hoping to heavens this happens. Finaly a Star Trek film that might top Wrath of Khan.

Even if Tarantino doesn't direct this, it would be amazing if he still wrote a script for it.

Really glad another ST movie is happening. Can't believe Tarantino is involved! Is it the same cast?

Great to hear that the franchise is continuing, this cast can't be wasted they are great. Beyond was under rated also.

But Tarantino directing sounds crazy and great at the same time.

No question on his talent. Will just be interesting to see if he can somehow fit Star Trek.

Wow if that happens. I know that Tarantino is a Star Trek fan.

Oh I didn't know that. Helps explain this a bit.

The thing is...IF Tarantino actually wants to a do a time travel story as he suggested in that interview, then there is a strong possibility that they would keep the Kirk meets his dad concept and fold that into whatever Tarantino wanted to do.

The "lets bring back Hemsworth" thing was always a stupid idea...but they REALLY wouldnt need that if Tarantino was directing. That alone would interest people who aren't already Trek fans to check it out.

2.5 hrs of Kirk & Spock in a locked elevator shaft explaining how he cheated on the Kobayashi Maru!!
Seriously, this could just be so crazy, it may well work. If he writes & directs. I heard he was just hosting a writers workshop though?

I hope he doesn't do a time travel story. The whole premise of the Kelvin universe is built on time travel. We don't need to go there again.

I'd rather they continue the feel of Star Trek Beyond and make it like an expanded episode of the original series. That seems to be what Tarantino wants to do anyway.

Well, that’s an interesting bit of news to wake up to. But what the hell, it’s not like the franchise is going anywhere atm. Bring it on.

Hmm. I think I'll pass. But I can picture his pitch:

QT: Okay, so, okay...from now on okay they'll be known as Kligon****rs, Vulcan****rs, and Romulan****rs.

SLJ: Makes sense to me boss.
