This gives me hope that Khan won't be the villain.

Other than Shelrock Benedict Cumberbatch was good as Scarlett Johnasson's husband in The Other Boleyn Girl and Juno Temples creepy rapist in Atonement. His cameo as a terrible hostage negotiator in terrorist comedy Four Lions was good as well.

Still screams "Vulcan" in his demeanor

As much as I like the Vulcanoid races, I hope neither one becomes the central plot point of the next movie. The last two Trek films in a row have been about Romulans, and the last about Vulcans. Time to explore more of the galaxy.

Good actors, but also fairly unknown outside of the UK. Which means that their price tags will probably be quite low.
So does this mean they can now afford a real Engineering set instead of the Budweiser abomination?

exactly. Thats why I was wondering why the heck people want him as a Vulcan.

I know it's unlikely, but I would really like to see the Andorians in the sequel. I think Benedict Cumberbatch would make a good Andorian.

Andorians are cool because they are so classic sci-fi.

I like Andorians, but would be better served by being a side issue in the movie. Can't see them being the main plot device.

I still Klingons are a must, whether as the main villain, or secondary antagonist-turned-ally. They are probably the most iconic alien race in popular culture, so excluding them in a second film would be inexcusable.

The Klingons have been done to death. So many people who complained about Khan possibly being the villian used the accuse that it was retreading old ground and J.J. and Co. being lazy and not imaginative.

The same arguments can be used against the Klingons as well.

Personally, I don't care as long as its a great story with a really great antagonist but it would be nice if the story is outside of the box. Do something crazy, after all JJ does not have canon restraining him.

He's excellent in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, too. A standout in an already awesome ensemble all in top form.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, GET THE BALL ROLLING ON THIS FILM

Why is this taking so long?

:whatever:

For the love of God, stop complaining that JJ Abrams isn't working around your schedule. :o

Well this is a comic book crowd for the most part. People are used to sequels coming out fairly fast.

Are you terminally ill? Worried that you won't see the next two years?

If it took this long to make a sequel that's good, it will have been worth it. Relax and switch to decalf.
