Star Trek Sequel - Part 1

I always thought Cummerbund had a genuinely alien look to him. He'll probably make a great villain.

But yeah, there goes any remaining thoughts of Khan (thank god).

Benedict Cumberbatch is in this? HOT DAMN! I love, love, this man.

He seems Vulcan-y to me. But I don't give a damn. Definitely the most exciting casting I've heard with this film.

He would make an awesome evil vulcan and then Kirk gets his own villain

Cumberbatch and another villain team up

Put your pants back on. :o

So Cumberbatch is the villain? Hell yes! God, I'm excited.

But....but...Vulcans aren't evil. :csad:

But yeah, I could easily see Cumberbatch playing a cold, heartless Vulcan whose "evil" is based entirely on rules of logic that Spock (and even Kirk) can't argue with.

Or an android. Just wait and he'll show up as a Klingon. They want to throw you off.

Hot damn, Cumberbatch is even better than I'd hoped for as the villain! Can't wait!

All this Cumberbatch lately is making me think I should start watching Sherlock.
DO IT. He is easily my favorite Sherlock Holmes. Just brilliant.

The thing about that is, if I do end up watching, and end up liking it, the prospect of only three episodes a season/series will start to seem unacceptably low.

I mean, come on... they can't up that to, like, six? :o

^That is true and me along with everyone else wants more but each episode is 90 minutes long. So length wise thats about 6 episodes if you go by 45 min episodes.

Cumberbatch is ****ing amazing! I'm so much more pumped for this movie now!!

It's true it does leave you wanting more, but at the same time, the episodes are much longer than the usual TV episode, so they feel more like mini-movies. That makes it easier to think of each season as a little trilogy or something.

Yeah just FYI, each episode of Sherlock is like an hour and a half long and about twice the length of your average TV episode. So you are getting a lot of content for one episode. One episode can essentially fill two hours of air time.

Cumberbatch is a good casting choice. However, I can't imagine him playing Khan or a Khan like character. He'd have to wear a really heavy body suit to do that. A big part of Khan is his imposing physicality. Cumberbatch is a really thin gangly individual. He's traditionally "strong" or the athletic type which Khan is.

Plus he's a really odd looking duck. I mean it works for him because he looks unique, but he just doesn't have that Khan look.

That's why I'm positive we can shoot down the Khan rumors completely.

Glad to see this is finally ramping up, some great cast members added, though I do have a natural dislike of Cumberpatch and I honestly couldnt tell you why, its just one of those things.

if he is not playing Khan then they rewrotte the villain IMO. i belive the Khan info.

Benedict Cumberbatch, wonderful wonderful news! I'm a Khan believer for the sequel and Benedict will bring something original to the role. (It Khan rumors are true.)

Well, this guarantees all the Sherlock fanboys/girls will turn out in droves and add to the b.o. I've seen the show, and while I'm not a massive fan of it, he's a pretty decent character actor.

Cumberbatch on Sherlock (can't wait to see him in Tinker, Tailor tomorrow) is the reason why I love him. He's done other things I've seen him in, but he's great.

Sherlock is totally worth it. Watch it. I'm gonna watch the new episode soon.

Cumberbatch is a good actor and I'm thrilled that he got a role in this, so looking forward to what he'll bring to the role.
