They will try but it should be noted video game sales (digital) and streaming viewership is way up.

Quite a few people like it, and there are those who didn't catch it in the cinema, but I suspect it will sell well at first, then gradually taper off.

I'm more interested in how things in other media sell going forward, such as comics and books. They made a big mistake killing off Kylo Ren, because people can hate on him all they like but not only was he the most popular character in the ST, the solo comic featuring his back story was a massive success, but another comic about Poe Dameron was cancelled due to poor sales.
DLF have lost a big money maker.
