I'm wondering, though..........do you think Hayden Blackman left mid-way because he knew that the final product/story was going to be crap?

I don't think the project suffered once he left. He left late in the development. He actually formed a new studio with someone else and he even said that he'd like to see a TFU III and he'd be willing to work on it (if I remember correctly). Of course he would no longer be the project lead of the game, but that doesn't mean he can't write the story again.

In all seriousness though, I probably will pick the DLC up now. I wasnt planning on doing so, but if it's gonna be this cheap, it's gotta be worth a shot.

I wish they'd just make a game about the Yuuzhan Vong war from the EU. Everything else about the franchise is moving forward or enhancing the mythos except the games.

That'd be pretty wild, but I dunno how the average audience would take it.

Honestly, though, they should take a shot making ANY game that features our primary Star Wars heroes (Luke, Han, Leia, Chewie, etc.). About all we've gotten from them since Next-Gen happened is minor cameos, the Lego games and Battlefront.

An original story featuring the classic heroes would slaughter the game market. Imagine an action/RPG type setup where you could use 3-4 of them at a time on missions? Co-op multiplayer a possibility?

I could see the DLC end with Starkiller letting them take out the installation (so Vader and the Emperor can eat it on the Death Star), then taking Luke/Leia as his personal apprentice. A very Sith thing to do.

Yea, this one really felt like a lazy dev effort. Kind of makes ya wonder if all that inside turmoil and Lucasarts had anything to do with it.

If the rumor is to be believed and the new pres of Lucassrts canceled the 3rd TFU game then u can be pretty sure we won't see a BF3 any time soon considering TFU is the highest selling Star Wars title ever. If that doesn't warrant sequels, I don't know what does.

I can imagine that, but I think the guy that left the project midway though still had the story finished so its not like it was a day by day thing. I just dont understand how they came up with such a weak story when atleast 6 of us on here could have come up with a way better story. I still think they screwed themselves and the overall story by having starkiller die at the end of the first one.

If they did it right, that would be awesome. And you're right, odds are something like that would be an instant sellout.

They should have made a TFU game set during a different time period with a new character. I honestly thought that what they'd do.

I actually like TFU II. The story isn't that good (especially compared to TFU), but I like the gameplay better. It sucks that it's short and that there are only 4 planets/locations though. 3 if you don't count Dagobah, because I don't really understand why they made it playable since it took less than a minute to complete.

I really hope the next Star Wars game (besides Lego Star Wars 3 and TOR), wether it's TFU II or something new, is better and has some sort of online component (co-op and/or multiplayer would be nice).

BTW...I don't think the game suffered because Blackman left. He left late in development. I think they had a smaller team than they did during the development of TFU, since they fired a lot of people before the release of the game. Which is the same thing they did with TFU II.

I'd be really interested in an interview with the new LucasArts president. We haven't heard anything besides the rumor that TFU III is cancelled.
