That's the first collector's edition I may get...some of the bonus stuff sounds pretty rad.

Yep the CE looks like a must for any serious Star Wars fan. I was scared that the edition would be running into the 100 but it is at a reasonable 80 so I will get it for sure.

Sweet. Dismemberment.

Still, as I watch the player run into his third group of Stormtroopers I immediately notice one major change: limbs are flying. Dismemberment is something players have been asking for since the original game -- something several of you commented that you wanted when you read the last story -- and whose inclusion is telling about TFU2's entire design philosophy. LucasArts knows that many of you enjoyed the original, but they also know that they have to step it up this time around, making the player feel even more empowered than ever.

Would anyone like to see dismemberment in the game? Limbs flying? Well...:awesome:...TFU II E3 Preview (IGN.com). They also confirm the release of a
demo, a month before the game's release!

EDIT: I got a "database error" when trying to post this and it looks like ProjectPat beat me to it. :cmad: :oldrazz:

That's cool I guess, but I wasn't really in the camp that thought severed limps would improve the game.

I definitely enjoyed the Jedi Knight games and I would like to see a new one some day, but I feel like it would probably be a little redundant with The Force Unleashed.

TFU is all about exagerated Force Powers and hack and slash gameplay.

Jedi Knight is more about lightsaber combat and variety. Since it's a FPS/TPS you can have Lightsabers, Force Powers and also use guns/vehicles.

My point is that it would be stupid of Lucasarts to have two "jedi action" franchises going on at the same time.

They already do/always have been?

Atm there's TFU + Clone Wars.

There was Jedi Power Battles, the movie tie-ins, etc. Even Battlefront 2 chimed in on the Jedi action to advertise what was originally a TPS shooter...

They did in the past, but now their focusing on one big project at a time, as they should be.

Not really, no. They focus on what makes them earn money.

Clone Wars projects sell just as much Jedi action to their audience.

Oh, and did we mention SWTOR? Yea... Jedi action there aswell...

What is this Clone Wars game you're referencing?

The Old Republic is neither an action game nor is it focused on Jedis.

I loved Jedi Knight as much as the next, but for a game that was about lightsaber combat, it had some of the worst saber combat in any star wars game to date. It was nothing but a bunch of random mouse clicks while strafing all over the level.

With that said, id like another Jedi Knight game as well.

Thank you. I really don't see how the JK games had the best lightsaber combat like some people claim. The only thing they had, that TFU didn't have (until now), was dismemberment. Every article, forum post, whatever I see online, there's always someone that mentions JK or Battlefront 3. I'd love to see those games too, but it becomes annyoing after a while.

Anyway...Back to The Force Unleashed II. I can't wait for the 4 min trailer! Doesn't look like it'll have any gameplay, but hopefully we'll get some gameplay during E3, next week.

Yea it(Jedi Academy) had poor combat but imo, it's still the most complete Jedi title that's been released. Having different Saber styles, hilts, colors plus the choices you could make in terms of the types of force powers you chose(ie light or dark side powers) really helped to sell it as a great Jedi experience. I also loved the fact that you could turn your saber on and off at will, something i wish you could do in TFU(necessary no, but i like the option). Thats why id like to see them return to the series. Im sure they could give us great saber combat along with all the choices that were available in the last title.

Oh yeah...I forgot about that stuff for a moment. :oldrazz: It would have been awesome if TFU added different lightsaber styles so we could choose. I don't mind not being able to choose between 2 different Force power sets, though. I'd definitely like Raven to make another JK game.

Yea and its not really fair to judge the two games together. TFU was FAR more story driven compared to the last JK game and TFU's story was what has really separated it from other Star Wars titles. Id put it up there with Knights of the Old Republic.
