That kid looks younger than Patrick.

Could it be Betty Ripsom?

Saw the teaser before The Dark Tower tonight. When Georgie peered into the storm drain, the guy behind us said out loud “I’m NOT WATCHING!!” :funny:

Muschietti Interview & Pennywise Photo

Here is an interview with Andy Muschietti and a new photo of Pennywise.

If the Muschiettis get their way, It will just be the first of several Stephen King-related projects to make it to the screen. The siblings own the rights to King’s sci-fi horror short The Jaunt, which was first published in 1981.

But they really want to tackle a big-screen redo of 1983’s Pet Sematary.

“We’re huge fans of Pet Sematary,” Muschietti says. “If we can get our hands on that and do the Pet Sematary we want to do, that will be something. One day, maybe.”

If this one lives up to the hype then hell yes give me another Pet Sematary.

You can also match his clothes. The red border on his shirt matches the one in this pic as posted by WitchTrialz: https://imgur.com/a/rUXC5

Saaaaaay I just noticed the pool of blood around his neck too. A clue to how he dies? I don't see a throat slash. Could it perhaps have been SPOILER....

A leech that burst in his mouth like a large blood balloon? :cwink:

Ehhhhh probably not, but that would be great

I hope he gets a gruesome death because Hockstetter is one of the most loathsome characters King ever wrote.

...I have a feeling that remake is inevitable, but the original is the first Stephen King movie I ever got to see in the theater, so it always holds a special (and demented) place in my heart.

Plus, I'd rather see a big screen version of Salem's Lot. Someone please make that happen.

While I love a lot of King's work I can honestly say that Pet Semetary is pretty much the only time I've gotten freaked out reading a book. It really just got under my skin. I think a big part of it was rooted in how much of King's real anxiety comes through in that book. The whole situation with the house next to the highway was directly based on King's own home at the time and he had a young son. Something about that book just gets under my skin and not in the vicarious fun way that horror usually does.

Even King felt he had gone too far when he first wrote Pet Sematary. He almost didn't publish it.

I read it when I was 13, and I think it bothers me more now than it did when I first read it, now that I'm adult and there are kids in my life. Losing a child in an accident like that was the scariest part about that book. My folks were both big King fans, and I remember my mom never liking Pet Sematary.

It's similar with It. Pennywise was creepy, but the chapter about Patrick Hockstetter always scared me more.

I'd say Pet Sematary probably is his scariest, or at least most disturbing, book. Reading that really felt like being drawn deeper and deeper into a nightmare with no way out. And when the book is over is was like waking up with a sigh of relief. Definitely not a book for people who wants a happy ending.

Just started listening to the audio book. I think that's better way to finish it than just trying to read it again before the movie comes out.

Holy crap. If this had been what the y lead with no one would have complained.

I've been picturing Bill Skarsgård as the Joker for sometime, and this pic of Pennywise does not dampen that feeling! Killer smile!

Yeah the original Entertainment Weekly picture was dog****. That is much better.

God damn, he looks so terrifying and perfect.

Except about him being too scary.

Exactly. There's this self satisfied take on the book and mini series lately where people insist Pennywise should look friendly, ignoring the fact that all of the scenes we see him in a trailer are obviously going to make him look scary. Pennywise isn't trying to lure anyone but Georgie, so he looks appropriate.

Most people (who haven't read the book) have NO idea that Pennywise spends most of the story not in clown form. In fact, in the mini series, the Georgie scene was the only one where he acts friendly. I don't count the opening scene with the little girl because he immediately attacked her after saying "hi!". So where does that idea come from?
It does make me wonder why Pennywise bothered with the masquerade on Georgie. I can't recall any other time Pennywise changed his eye color to blue either.
