It was in the shooting script. Here it is, copy and pasted from another forum
INT. DERRY PUBLIC LIBRARY - READING ROOM - DAY

Ben looks up at a PAINTING of the First Derry Settlement. At first it appears like the Fur Trappers are on the hunt, lying in the prone position. But closer inspection reveals —

They’re dead. Because Whatever they were hunting found them instead. And as we PUSH IN on that WELLHOUSE we CUT TO:

TITLE CARD over the PENOBSCOT RIVER:

AUGUST

Tilt down to the OVERHEAD shot of what we expect to be “Derry 1989”, but instead we see NOTHING, just the intersection of a stream and river and the surrounding wilderness, towering black pines as far as the eye can see.

This is Derry in —

1637

INT. WELLHOUSE - NIGHT

ABIGAIL, 19. Rushes in and SLAMS the door. As if trying to keep Satan himself out. She clutches her BABY to her breast.

Kneels by DYING EMBERS in the hearth. She blows on ‘em but a flame never catches. Her Baby starts to fuss…

ABIGAIL
Hush now, shhhh… it’ll be —

She stops.

Realizes that the SMALL CANDLE CHANDELIER slowly spins above her. As if some unnatural force has caused its light to rotate around the room, like tiny primitive searchlights.

She hears something slithering in the gray shadows by the Well. Occasionally we catch glimpses of a BLACK SILHOUETTE.

Shifting its shape. As if trying to decide on a form.

ABIGAIL
Please, Devil… leave us be…

Shape shifts again.

A beam of light passes, revealing PENNYWISE, naked, lithe, flesh pale and translucent, a half-formed imitation of a human, opens his maw full of large razor sharp teeth, dripping saliva.

As the Tin Can spins clockwise, Pennywise moves counter around the room. Each time the light hits his face —

It’s different.

A Man. A Woman. A Beast. A Monster. Tim Curry.

PENNYWISE
You mistake me woman. No mere
devil, I am the Easter of Worlds.

His voice is guttural, unnatural.

ABIGAIL
But my child, not my chid… He is
innocent.

PENNYWISE
So you say.

The Baby SCREAMS. Pennywise smiles.

ABIGAIL
I pray Thee, take me.

Abigail shuffles back.

PENNYWISE
I will. And then, him. And thy
husband and the rest of thy
children, and all the savages who
brought you here. And when you all
rot in the earth, I will pick thy
bones dry until no meat is left to
pick. And then I will seek out thy
bones and consume thy souls until
nothing is left but the weeds!
(beat)
Or you will occupy yourself
otherwise and not interfere. I will
take her and you will live, and
those of thy other children — in
whom I take no interest. And you
will thank ME fever and frost did
not damn you to the soil.

Abigail looks down at her baby again. She’s shaking, doesn’t want to let go. Behind her, the door OPENS.

A Little Boy, 6, asks —

BOY
Mama?

ABIGAIL
NO! OUT! NOW!

Frightened by his mother, the Boy runs.

Abigail turns back to Pennywise. Wherever he may be now in the room. The light somehow seems to spin faster now.

She kisses her baby and sets it down. It BAWLS.

ABIGAIL
I’m sorry, I’m so sorry…

She turns away from the baby. Faces those dying embers. We keep on her face as they seem to begin GLOWING BRIGHTER AS —

OVER HER SHOULDER — OUT OF FOCUS —

Pennywise crawls over to the Baby and starts to feast. SHARP CRY FROM THE BABY CUT OFF as we hear a CRUNCH.

Abigail continuing to look into the BRIGHT ORANGE GLOW of not the flickering fire…

…but the DEADLIGHTS.

Her expression changes. Fear. Denial. Grief. Acceptance. And then nothing. Just a glazed look.

AS IF NOTHING HORRIFIC IS ACTUALLY HAPPENING BEHIND HER.

I'm glad that was cut tbh and I imagine that would have gotten them an x rating in all honesty.

I don't know [blackout]Aronofsky got away with that.[/blackout]

Pennywise, the most effective birth control of all.

It depends on how they do it. In "Bram Stoker's Dracula", there's a scene where Dracula brings a baby to his brides for them to eat. While they surround the baby, we just see a closeup of Jonathan Harker's face in torment.

One of the many things I really love about Bill's Pennywise is how he uses 5 different voices throughout the film. Soft and childlike with Georgie, gruff, yet playful during Eddie's first encounter at Neibolt, animalistic growl when Eddie gets confronted at the house, before transitioning into the high and squeaky voice when taunting Bill. Plus, there was the deep and gravely voice when manipulating Henry through the TV.

A similar scene was filmed and featured in test screening version of the movie this spring

Just got back from seeing it, it seemed a really good, enjoyable movie and the kids were great in their roles, unfortunately my experience was ruined by a gang of teenage girls who moved from seat after being told off to behind me, they then proceeded to speak through nearly every good moment.

8/10, looking forward to seeing this again but at home next time I think.

That really sucks. And the problem with reporting them to the theatre is you end up missing even more of the movie, and having an even worse time. I don't know why people can't just behave themselves when in public.

Yeah I really hate when that happens. Usually if you explain this to the manager, they'll give you something for your troubles.

Eh, I just wanted to get out of there at the end before I strangled them myself. Was really annoying, I don't get the point in paying to see a movie then talking all the way through it, ****ing kids.

I forgot to mention, I liked the little easter eggs for book readers. Like Georgie's lego turtle or Pennywise saying "beep beep Richie"

I almost forgot but noticed on my third viewing the cameo of
Christine
right before Mike's first encounter with Pennywise in the alley.

Holy **** I missed that!

Is the big Friday increase really all that strange during the school year?

It's not. Don't Breathe last year showed similar or rather bigger increases on Friday so there is precedent plus weekends will always be inflated compared to the weekdays at this time of the year. SM:H had a lower OW but it's already ahead in terms of the domestic total after the first week. So yeah, you're right about that.

But 'IT' is an R rated horror movie that also happens to be a Stephen King adaptation that collected a whopping 13.5 million in pre-views. Don't Breath was a 26 million opener coming of the back of less than 1 million on Thursday's, so a huge Friday increase is a lot more feasible for DB than it is for 'IT'. There are just way too many parameters that are stacked against 'IT'. 'IT' should really be front-loaded AF. Yet it's bucking all sorts of trends.

Being rated-R isn't really stacked against it though. This is playing liked Deadpool. It is a proper tentpole, and teens are seeing it as so. This is why being afraid of making these kind of films R is idiotic imo. Play it up. Also, this has clean air. Ain't anything out until next week.

I had a lot of fun with this. It really felt like Amblin meets Nightmare on Elm Street and while it could have done with Heather Langenkamp, I'll deign to forgive them. Bring on part 2 with Pennywise eating that guy under the bridge.

When I saw your response I figured y'all were talking about the infamous Bev scene, but yeah...I'm glad they cut this out too. I haven't gotten a chance to see the movie yet, but I hear the director made good choices with what he decided to NOT put in. My fiancee might get a bit aggravated because IT is literally her favorite book next to The Witching Hour, but I think she's more pissed about the slingshot.

You read they almost put Kreuger in the movie right? It would have made perfect sense given the updated timeline and would have been too cool to see Robert Englund pop up. :D

I almost started clapping when Pennywise screamed "BEEP BEEP RITCHIE!" at the end. :woot:

Wow, I totally missed that.
I wonder if Christine will make a return in part 2 and will be the car that transports Henry (driven by zombie!Belch) to the Loser's hotel like in the book.

One thing I just remembered that slightly bothered me about the end was how it was Bill that cut their palms and made the them take the oath to return instead of Stan. Stan being the one that made them take the oath is incredibly poignant because
he's the only one of the Losers that doesn't return to Derry.
The change kinda loses that poignancy, but oh well.

In other news, the soundtrack to this movie is absolutely fantastic, I've listened to the whole thing from start to finish about three times so far. I particularly love the use of 'Oranges and Lemons' which is one of the damn creepiest nursery rhymes ever written, along with 'Ring a Ring o' Roses'.

Would have been a nice update on the idea that Pennywise turned into classic movie monsters. Krueger's this generations Universal Monster.
