Stephen King's "IT" remake has found a writer - Part 4

I love Amy Adams but I can't see her even wanting to be in a horror project at this point in her career. I'd be surprised if she was cast.

It's not just another horror film, though. It's a Stephen King adaptation and sequel to one of the most successful films of the year. It Chapter 2 will attract some A-list attention, no question.

IT's world-wide BO figure is at 683.4 million. Domestic total is 326.6 million and the OS total is 356.8 million. Last week 'IT' debuted to fantastic numbers but this weekend 'IT' managed to smash all kinds of expectations in Japan and increased from last weekend.

According to Japanese BO insiders:

IT is the real winner and big story of this weekend, increasing a phenomenal 22% in its second weekend. The retelling of Stephen King's novel also exceeded 500,000 admissions after nine days in release, which is also a nice accomplishment in the horror genre. It's still early to project a total, but it's very likely to approach the ¥2 billion ($20 million) milestone and I wouldn't be too surprised if it climbs closer to ¥2.5 billion ($25 million). I can't actually recall any horror film actually exceeding ¥2 billion right now, but I'll do some research into the genre this week.

Nao 'IT' will potentially snag another million or so in the domestic market and maybe around 1.2 million from all the foreign countries minus Japan. So the world-wide total becomes [(326.6+1)+(356.8+1.2)]=685.6 million.

In this scenario the movie will need 14.4 million to reach 700 million world-wide. The Japanese BO expert's projection of (20-25) million does give me hope that 'IT' can break the 700 million barrier. Plus all bets are off for any movie actually increasing in it's sophomore weekend in Japan.

Just think about this, no one in their right mind would have predicted this number before the movie came out. Even the most optimistic person wouldn't have dreamed of BO figures like this even in their wildest dreams. This is phenomenal. The fact that I'm actually talking about a scenario where 'IT' does go past 700 million is absolutely crazy. This will be regarded as one of the best BO stories of all time.

Watch it end up being Bryce Dallas Harper

That's it, Bryce Harper for Beverly, any body else would be a disservice.

Can't wait for this blu ray, going to watch the hell out of it.

Yay, but I really wish they had released this in time for the holidays. Real missed opportunity on WB's part there.

The gap between the digital release and physical copies hitting stores is kind of irritating. A week, I can deal with. This feels like a bit much.

I'm just pissed that we aren't getting the extended cut on this release which probably means one of three things.

1. WB canceled the release of an extended cut.
2. The director misspoke when he said there would be an extended cut.
3. WB plans to release the extended cut later on to get consumers to buy the movie on home video a second time.

Option three is the best one, but still bummed out we probably won't get it on time!

Makes sense that the extended cut wouldn't be released in time for the initial release. Andy has been tied up with production on Locke And Key for the last couple months. recuting the film, with additional score addition/ adjustments is gonna take time. From the sound of it, he still has to assess what the final cut will be. I see another rogue cut situation.

They'll probably release an extended cut near when the sequel hits theaters.

If they're including 11 deleted scenes with this version, I wouldn't hold my breath for an extended cut.

Just gonna wait for the 2 parts to be hopefully released on home release as one combined cut, once Part 2 has completed it's cinema release run.

I still say Jessica Chastain is perfect inspired casting for adult Beverly.

Sophia Lillis bears a heavy resemblance to her in my opinion. They'd be stupid not to jump on Chastain for adult Beverly.

I don't think so. They will not spend a lot of money casting all A-listers. They need to save the budget if they want a huge profit.

A supporting role isn't very attractive to A-listers. Only Chastain is desperate for it.

They don't. Sophia has a sweet look to her. Chastain has a harsh face with high cheekbone. The only similarity is their hair color.

I could be wrong but methinks the complaints from SProsser has something to do with Amy Adams not being in the reckoning for Bev's role.

:awesome:Why would I want her in this role? Long shooting, supporting role, etc. The audience isn't going to remember anyone in the movie except that clown. I rather have her use the time to do the Enchanted sequel.

If she was the sole lead, then yes, I would love it. But this movie's main star is Pennywise. This role is for a B-lister or someone who needs a breakout. I don't understand people's obsession with hair color. They can get an actress and bleach her hair.

That's why I didn't say all A-listers, I said some. Take Bill Hader for example. He's the fan favorite (including Finn Wolfhard) to play older Richie, and he's not an A-lister. Sure, he's famous enough but he's not at that level...yet.

I'm going to be grabbing the Best Buy Steelbook.

Looking forward to nabbing the 4K UHD of this. One of my favorite movies of the year and I plan on watching it a **** load on home video.
