i dont see it doing more than 650 WW tbh, idk, since theres absolutely zero competition for at least 2-3 weeks, it might do more but im just being optimistic at this point.

I'm still gonna say $640 WW. It already destroyed my original prediction so won't mind if it does again haha.

Just kidding. I know we're on the same page here. :woot:

Even with more than 60% drops in overseas markets, the total should be around 310.4+25+10+4+1.6=351 million. Now add to that at least 8 million more from Germany and I'll be extremely conservative here, just 8 million from Japan and the final international total will be at 351+16=367 million. The minimum domestic total at this point would be closer to 297 million. The WW gross 297+367=664 million.

I think it's safe to say now that SS will definitely at least break 660 million.

It's at 600 mil right now and it's about to have a 25-30 mil WW weekend, how is there any situation where it doesn't get to 650?

If literally every foreign market other than Japan stopped playing it after today and it was just the US and Japan the movie would still have a decent shot at $650

i mean those are just predictions, it could go lower than that so dont get your hopes up.

Those are conservative projections

And they could go lower sure but how much lower? Even if it's a 20 mil weekend it would be more than on pace to beat 650. Are you saying that WW it's going to have a $10 mil weekend?

Even if they go lower than that it's a guaranteed $650m. Just like Blitzkrieg's $8m Japan prediction - that's literally half of what's reasonable.

All my estimates were done considering a drop off of 60% or more where just last week SS had only a 47% drop during the weekends and there really doesn't seem to be big competition for SS at the international BO so it will do reasonably well. Overseas gross will eventually go past 360 million and that's the lower end of the estimates.

It's going to perform right up until it hits $649.99m and then World War III breaks out and the EMP of thousands of detonated warheads shuts down all cinemas worldwide. :funny:

BvS did 16.5 million in Japan so SS should do at least more than 8 million and there is an obvious appeal with Katana in the movie. I'm just being really really conservative.

By the time SS releases in Japan, Godzilla Resurgence will simmer down considerably, so that's good news right there. :woot:

My (bizarre) Japan prediction was made on the basis that Korea's current box office combined with CA:CW's legs would take it to a number slightly above BvS, and then I used the difference between BvS Japan and Korea to calculate SS Japan returns.

We'll see if I'm deluded. The reason I post predictions down to the dollar is, imagine how fun it would be if I was right? :D

Lol the end of the world is literally the only thing keeping this from $650 mil

Okay, there is one thing that's bugging me and even though I like what I'm hearing, I'm still having a hard time believing it.

SS was at 572 million after the 3rd weekend and after just 4 days the WW gross is already over 600 million. Now that's just Ayer tweeting it and other sites reporting it over and over again but if it's true then it's really amazing and remarkable how well it's doing in international markets.

If the WW gross is at 600 million then subtracting the 8.5 million that SS will gross in the domestic market we get 591.5 million and the previous known total was at 572 million so SS made around 19.5 million in just 4 days in the overseas market, that is just fantastic.

"Suicide Squad which made$1.67M yesterday saw its three week cume climb to $270.8M. This weekend, the David Ayer film is expected to bring in an estimated $10M-$11M, and if it does wind up slashing Don’t Breathe, it will be the first title this year to hold the No. 1 spot for four weekends in a row. Currently, Suicide Squad is outpacing August’s previous comic book hit Guardians of the Galaxy (final B.O. $333M) by 16%."

Oh man. The twitter battle between Mark Hughes and Rob Liefeld about SS Box Office yesterday was epic.

In other news Suicide Squad has absolutely zero chance to stay #1 this weekend. Don't Breathe takes it.

Yup, just saw the preview figures and in all likelihood Don't Breathe will gross 15-16 million this weekend and knock SS off the top of the table. I'll be happy if SS goes anywhere near 10 million, that will be a very good result this weekend.

What sparked the Liefield debate? Why does Liefield even care?

He is the creator of the character "Deadpool", whose movie was mega successful (with better reviews and RT score), so was not happy that SS was successful despite having a Rotten rating.

Oh, I think SS does 10m+. I just think Don't Breathe will open with $20m+.

Yes, and that's one of the pettiest things I saw all year.

I had such respect for Rob Liefeld, all gone.I mean he behaved like a 10 year old,so immature.First he claimed stuff, then he called names and went full ad-hominem,and while Hughes stood his ground and was extremely respectful and even asking his readers not to hurl abuse at the guy, then when Hughes called him out on his disrespectful and baseless allegations at trying to defame him,he basically went "I DIDNT DO IT huh huh"..Jesus.Then he tried to pass off his petulant behaviour as "dissenting opinion".Smh.

Hughes utterly destroyed him. I don't expect him ever to try picking a fight with him again, unless he's suicidal.

So all these numbers, do they include China, or is that still off the table? This thing is getting close to GotG territory without China and some still say it's a failure? That haterade is real. I didn't really like SS, but as a DCEU fan, I'm really glad it's doing well in the BO. It's already making this much with a **** RT score, imagine if it had good reviews, it might even cross the big B. Just shows you the draw that DCEU characters alone command.
Aww another DCEU film, another bout of number crunching (box office, percentage drops, etc), opinions that are FACT (i.e. "I didn't like this movie, so it's wasn't good" THE END), & breakdowns to the tee ("Let me pull out this magnifying glass & look at these set photos. Yup, Leto's hair was longer here, this is a reshoot shot, no doubt about it"). You telling me I've got to wait until Wonder Woman next summer before I'm blessed with this again :( Meanwhile, over at the Dr. Strange forums, don't step on the crickets upon entering. Eat it up fellas, this level of vitriol vs defense is only exclusive to the DCEU :jd:
For all the vitriol it's getting, the DCEU is consistently having more viewers and visitors than MCU subs. I know a lot of you guys absolutely hate the DCEU and simply adore the MCU, so why aren't you guys discussing your favorite movies instead of hating on the ones you don't like. The logic in this forum....

Anyone have screens/copies of those tweets?

Yeah I know but...Deadpool is still going to end up being more successful and profitable than SS. Thats why I don't understand why Liefield even cares.
