I think it's been reported that they are looking to fill the roles for another Black male and a Latino. Manta? Bane? I don't know. I am guessing Manta is a good possibility.

I think Bronze Tiger is also a possibility, and what about Black Spider?

I'd love to see a proper bane in this movie.

Well, when you put it that way, I guess that makes more sense. I was just thinking more along the lines of like Waller trying to blackmail one of the bigger heroes that she'll have one of their loved ones assassinated if they don't do what she orders them.lol

Yeah, that's one way... However... Do you want to tell Superman you have Deadshot on 24 hour call to put a bullet through Martha Kent's heart? Look what happened to Zod in MOS when he was threatening the most powerful man in the world's mom. Tell the fastest being on the planet that his loved ones are targets and I have a feeling every government secret he could find in ten minutes would be dumped on the internet. Waller would understand that such actions with these extraordinary individuals would be tantamount to a declaration of war, a war that in the end, she and the government can't win. Basically the outlook Fox in THE DARK KNIGHT when that accountant confronted him about Batman applies here.

It would crazy to have Hardy and another actor portraying Bane in the same film, but... I actually dig the idea for some reason, but that's me. Black Spider is definitely in the "redshirt" category, and the team needs cannon fodder to live up to the concept so, who know?

All good points for sure.haha

If Hardy's characters lives to meet Batman in some other film, then he'll get a chance to finally say that he's the only actors that's interacted with two different versions of Batman on the big screen while having played two different DC characters himself.lol

Who would have thought 10 Years ago that the two of them would be playing Deadshot and Batman respectively? haha

Kevin Smith can now say he's directed BATMAN and DEADSHOT in the same movie in the same scene.

I know... I have to give MORE props to Tsujihara. This is such an amazing undertaking right now, building this DCCU, and Inhave to say so far, to my eyes, it seems that some real care and attention is being taken.

And if he wants to go a step further, he can say that he also directed Batman going hulkamania with Betty Ross.lol

Indeed; though believe it or not, there are still some people who are in denial about this and actually believe that SS will be its own separate entity with no connections to the DCU lore.lol

Yeah, there have been some strange reactions to the casting news for this thing. Right now, with this locked in cast, the casting rumors and the director attached, to my mind, this is shaping up to be the OCEAN'S11 of CBMs, and that really excites me.

Well if the whole saying of how a hero is only as good/great as his/her villain(s), then we're in for a treat for when these villains collide with their respective counterparts.

One constant complaint that I've noticed in A LOT of CBM films have mainly been about how "underdeveloped" the hero's villains were, thus no real interest in seeing the hero coming into conflict with that said villain.

But if this film is able to raise the interest and anticipation for our heroes to finally confront their villains, then that'll be a real treat to see.

In a way, it's actually freaking brilliant. Rather than doing solo films of having the heroes tackle on expendable villains, they're building up their heroes and villains in different films (Dawn of Justice and SS) before having them collide in the future.

And this has been the approach a lot of long time fans of DC have thought about for years. I know I have. Squad is unique property for comic books, and I always felt it would be a great way to develop the villains of a shared on screen Universe.

Agreed.

Oh, on another note...if only Batman cameos in this, does that give credence to the theory that Superman may have "died" at the end of BvS?

Not necessarily.

They're not going to waste Bane and Manta on random, throwaway lummox roles. My guess is that those two roles are for much smaller fish. Cannon Fodder to round out the squad.

Agreed.

Who knows? Frankly, Bats has crossed over with the Squad a few times in the old comics. He's a better fit for the world of intrigue and black ops than Supes. There was a story, THE SEARCH FOR THE ATOM/RAY PALMER which had Aquaman, Superman and Bats in it and the inclusion of Supes and Arthur felt a little off to me for some reason.

I wonder if they are going to allude to Waller knowing Batman's ID in this?

How do you force those guys into serving government interests when so many of them are personally more powerful than most nations, including the USA, not to mention they are the ones that kick the ass of the Squad members on a regular basis? There are also interesting political questions. Even if you could force a GL or a Wonder Woman or Aquaman to do what you want, there would be repercussions from the GL Corps., The Amazons and Atlantis to consider. Also, the Squad's missions are black ops stuff. Involving a Flash or a Superman in them would be counterproductive.

That's a much nicer answer than that dumb question merited. "Hey guys, why doesn't Amanda Waller force Darkseid to be part of the Suicide Squad? Couldn't he take care of their problems much better than someone like Captain Boomerang? Durr, durr."

Why you gotta be a *****e though?

Not in a way brilliant....it is BRILLIANT!

So after seeing how awesome Captain Boomerang was on the Arrow episode tonight, I'm excited to see what they do with him in this movie. It had better be awesome. He really brought the moves on tonight's Arrow.

I thought the same thing.

It already look like a sure thing anyways but here is some more evidence that Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor will indeed be in Suicide Squad.

Jonah Hill is going to star in Todd Phillips' "Arms and the Dudes" and it sounds like he is taking the part that Jesse Eisenberg was originally supposed to play.
Variety said:
Jesse Eisenberg and Shia LaBeouf had to depart due to delayed scheduling, and Warners worked fast to find replacements. The studio has offered the co-starring role to Miles Teller to replace LaBeouf.

This is the same movie that the original Deadline report said Jesse Eisenberg would have to drop out of to do Suicide Squad and now it appears he has with the Jonah Hill news.
Deadline said:
This would complicate the expectation that Eisenberg would star in the Todd Phillips-directed Arms And The Dudes. I’m hearing it’s unlikely he would be able to do both. He’s already set to reprise in Now You See Me 2, and this one is a clear priority since Kevin Tsujihara told Wall Street that it would be a 2016 release.

So...
Will Smith - Deadshot
Tom Hardy - Rick Flagg
Margot Robbie - Harley Quinn
Jared Leto - The Joker
Jai Courtney - Captain Boomerang
Care Delevingne - Enchantress
and most likely Jesse Eisenberg -Lex Luthor

Oh man is this cast awesome.
Now all we got to do wait for Oprah! :woot:

I hope we get king shark on the team. We need a monster on the squad.
