The way he talked and walked and interacted with certain characters reminded me of few southern pimp daddy roles from 70s movies I watched with my brother
You make it sound enticing. In a trashy sorta way.

Oh my God, there is a moment in the trailers I can think of being just that. :funny:

No I agree with taking reviews into account. What I am not a fan of is cheery picking said reviews.

I think the idea is that if there is a certain critic that you trust (i.e. has praised movies that you enjoyed), and have credibility in terms of whether their reviews align with your preferences, then pay more attention to them.

Different critics have different opinions, and some will be more compatible with your film-going preferences, so there is some value in cherry picking.

Oh, I see.

Well, if Leto's Joker is based on Dolemite, I'm gonna LOVE him. :sly:

Hah if they would have gone to THAT extreme then I prob would have too. But that's how I feel about the whole movie. It's like going in expecting Die Hard and getting A Good Day to Die Hard

why not, when some cherries are better than others?

film critics are not equally good at their jobs, some are actually perceptive and insightful, and others are just opinionated buffoons
Because a director who has incentive is going to say something like this. You can take any method or advice you like. But as much as I loved Ebert, I didn't put that much stock in him.

Oh, boy. Well, at least maybe then I'll get to see someone take out a helicopter with a police car. :woot:

that's the wrong reason to choose certain critics over others

you should choose them because of their proven open-mindedness and perspicacity. i trust critics who don't tend to give me a flat "its good" or "its bad" review of a film, but who reveal a bit of the character and nuance of the film. then on the basis of that analysis i decide whether its a film i want to see or not

Jesus Christ. Are people and critics whining about the color grading? ****ing cry babies. Ill take MOS, BvS, and SS cinematography over the MCU's bland bright "happy" cinematography any day.

To each their own.

I don't want all these movies to look and sound the same either. Something just looks off about the color grading/palette what have you for Justice League.

I don't understand why everyone have something against DC.... DC is iconic, DC is history, DC is original, DC's characters are mythological and dates back to 1940s.. many of its characters dates back to this time.. why does everyone hate the original but love the copy? ffs.

Edit: I also think the critics are biased... they probably are tired and wants to destroy the superhero genre.. so it's easier to pick on the fresh DC universe.

Man he's good in The Killing and HoC. Maybe he's just a TV actor

Remember how bland he was as Alex Murphy in the first 30 min of RoboCop? So, that, but for a whole movie and with a stuuuuuuuupid subplot

And what did you think of El Diablo?

Damnit. I liked him on the Killing, but he was bad in that horrid RoboCop remake.

No people hate DC's new movies not DC proper.

THIS IS KATANA

SHE'S GOT MAH BACK

SHE'KEN CUT ALL YOU IN HALF WITH ONE SWORD STROKE LIKE MOWIN THE LAWN

nothing against Joel, but I really am sad we didn't get Tom Hardy instead. maybe he'll get a better role in a future movie though.

They have nothing against DC. They do have stuff against subpar films however, which is what the past three films from WB have been.

So far what I have seen from the clips and the trailers he seems fine as Rick Flag.

A damn shame that it's the 3rd DCEU film in a row and 3rd film in the franchise to be so critically devided.

WW and the major event of JL are next.
