I'm going to skip SS in theaters. August is about the worst possible month for me as that's vacation time, and with the Olympics also on, I have to really be motivated to spend a night at the theater.

I will still watch it on Netflix/TV, since the trailers looked interesting, and make up my own mind about the film. But if I end up agreeing with critics, this will basically be it for the DCEU to me. If this film can't succeed, I have zero faith in the films more directly tied to the horrible BvS. The DCEU will just be a dead franchise to me like Transformers that I just completely ignore and will never end up seeing the new ones.

The only thing I don't like about Hernandez right now is the possible spoiler [BLACKOUT]that he dies. It sounds like he was one of the standout performances and it would be cool to see more Diablo.[/BLACKOUT]

yes but from the sounds of it, its handled quite well.

Glad to see how universally praised the cast is. In particular, Smith, Robbie, Davis and Hernandez. Leto getting mixed to positive with most citing his lack of screen time as the issue

Well the cast is full of great actors. I'm excited to see the movie on Sunday with my family. I already have the tickets.

When he posted it nobody here was doing that. Unless I wasn't paying attention, which is entirely possible.

Neither was I, but I've seen heaps of it over in the RT thread, so it was probably here, too, somewhere.

I don't recall calling her a him, but if I did I apologize.

In my last few posts, I was using "him" to refer to the poster speaking a second language.

It's ok, it was just a heads up. No need to apologize, it wasn't an offensive thing to do, and an easy mistake to make. It's not like we're all tagged with our genders here :cwink:

This post just broke my heart because I know exactly how you feel.

Thank you, man... I'm glad you were able to understand me.
It's okay my dear fellow member. :D
In internet everything kind of blurred in lines. :)

Come on, SHH discussion topic galore today! :D
I'll still watch SS for sure.

Cool, can't wait to hear your thoughts next year :o

Seriously this will never hit Netflix and will be on HBO probably next Spring/Summer

Man, even the POSITIVE reviews are calling it a mess. Is it a mess in an editing standpoint like the BvS Theatrical Cut where there's just a lot going on and there's a lot of jumping around?

I won't be seeing it in the cinema either. I just can't in good conscience use my money to support yet another DC film that has failed fans. We can't keep rewarding these films. If Suicide Squad still manages to make money, WB will have no incentive to actually make a good film.

How does this keep happening!? I'm so beyond angry... I'm PERFECTLY indifferent...

Well I'm still going on Thursday (tickets already bought) so hopefully this is like when I disagreed with the consensus on Tarzan and not like when I had to agree on BVS. It's just a bit crazy that even the one positive review said it was a mess.

I think WB just really dropped the ball by not taking their time to come up with some sort of overall plan for the universe and only recent appointing someone to "Feige" it.

Did the studio mess around with the editing again? I keep hearing they f***ing did it again.

What was all the reshoots about that they did a few months ago?

There is a lot of haphazard jumping around. I particularly call out the introduction of the squad being like a series of mini-trailers or Anime Music Videos you'd see on YouTube (there's a scene in particular in the film later on that frustrates me with its music usage) that feels both rushed and overly long at the same time.

You've seen the movie right. What is the worst flaw about it in your opinion?

As someone who grew up with a lot of these characters I know how you feel. I feel almost obligated to watch this but I'm also having second thoughts about forking over coin for a series that isn't delivering the results I believe these characters deserve.

Did you like the movie, as a whole?

According to Ayer, the studio loved it so much, they gave him more money to do more of he wanted. That seems to have worked for them. :o

But I believe I remember that [BLACKOUT]the Justice League member cameo[/BLACKOUT] was part of it.
