They are giving it to Ayer? I'd not be shocked now if people at WB thought Ayer did a great job and a great movie with Suicide Squad :/
Ayer not writing the script helps immensely. I hope Margot has more input in her costume this go-round, she was way too sexualized in SS.
I also think Ayer has some stipulations in his contract for this film, otherwise, why go through another round of post-production BS the studio put him through?
How so? This was pitched by Margot Robbie 8 months ago.
I don't believe that for a second. Harley was incredibly popular before Margot played the part and WB would have had their eye on a spin-off early on.
Good for her in getting a producer credit, but this is a WB's agenda.
The Deadshot move in particular reeks of throwing whatever at the wall and seeing what sticks.
Those slots could be filled with, more important movies. Whats next? Slipknot?
I actually thought Deadshot was the standout start of SS. I would definitely watch a Deadshot movie. And I think it's a safe bet I'm not alone. I think this Sirens film and Deadshot spinoff were pretty obvious.

It reeks more of "star power".
Will Smith really seemed to enjoy the character.
A funny line that only worked because of Will Smith.Lady you are EVIL
Agreed, I would watch a Deadshot movie also. He has had solo arcs in the comics, and is now more well known than ever. Give the movie a Deadpool budget and plenty of freedom, could be something great.
Slipknot...gone, but not forgotten.Plus, Deadshot is actually a viable enough character that making a movie about him makes sense. I do still agree that WB is throwing **** at the wall to see what sticks but this move could be a good one.
And the only way Slipknot could get a movie were if he were ahead of the game.
Okay, that was horrible. I know.

So who would we want in Deadshot movie? I don't think it would be a solo film. Maybe a prequel showing him, Croc, etc working in Gotham for the Falcone family?

I put this idea in another thread, but maybe have Deadshot tasked with hunting down Deathstroke for Waller but it turns into a grudge match to prove who the world's best assassin is.
