Plot convenience I'm afraid. It's like all those times Barry could run on over and help Ollie with a problem - it rarely, if ever happens because it would degrade (somewhat) the titular star of the respective show.My only question is where is Superman while all this stuff is going on or are they not allowed to use him?
I just imagine that while she's fighting Reign, he's fighting Doomsday in Metropolis.
TBH, always felt that the show should have started with Superman leaving earth for some reason...Solves the entire issue in one swoop
If the show runs for 10 years then Superman off earth for10 years? Sorry but I always felt any off Earth plot was a cop out.
This plot actually makes sense why hes stay in Metropolis at least at the point were at now with the Earth terraforming. Metropolis and god knows where else will need him more than ever. Before that though when Supergirl was on Argo and they were worried she wouldnt make it back in time Superman should have at least gotten a mention as a viable back up.
Obviously bring him back at some point... but then bring him in with an actor they can use more often than Tyler...
Not for me, I hate recasts and especially as Tyler played it perfectly. I don't think its all down to his availability either. The Supergirl producers had to get special permission to use Superman for the three episodes they had him in. So I don't think its down to them been able to use him when they feel like it.

WB need to stop the childish behaviour... we are intelligent people... we can tell that different universes are different universes... let the TV people use who they want...
It's strange, isn't it. There doesn't seem to be much consistency. They're okay to run (forgive the pun) with two Flash's, two Superman's (to some extent), two Deathstrokes, but then the Suicide Squad get removed because WB wants them in a movie, Amanda Waller gets killed off for the same reason, and of course there's the well-known block on Batman as far as TV goes.
And now we might never see Manu Bennett's Deathstroke on TV again because Joe Manganiello is (supposed to be) playing him in that upcoming Batman solo film.![]()
oh no... not talking about sending him off now and returning as someone else.. i meant that Superman should have been offworld from the start of the show..
