Supernatural-Season 7

You guys forget God resurrected Castiel back "new and improved" in "Swan Song". He probably had the power to enter and exit the Cage successfully, or at least he thought he did according to "The Man Who Would Be King".

Speaking of the Cage, I still don't understand how Castiel, flew straight down the other eight layers of Hell, into the Cage, past Lucifer and Michael, picked up Sam's physical body, and then dragged him hack up to Earth in a matter of hours. When it took a legion of angels months to break Dean from a much higher circle of Hell. It doesn't make sense.

Well the Angels were actually trying to start the Apocalypse then, so they had to wait on Dean to break the first seal and get the process started.

And, as others have noted, Cas was obviously more powerful after his Resurrection (I always took his new and improved line to mean he'd become an Archangel). And he may have just used the key to the Cage, too.

Using the rings would have made most sense, because he's not an Archangel because otherwise he could've taken Raphael with more ease.

Castiel was never an Archangel imo, he probably had more power as he was "improved", but keep in mind he didn't stood a chance when tackling Raphael!

I think it is just one if those things we have to accept, like "how come Lucifer can't just leave the cage because the 66 seals are still broken"?

Well after the end of the world stoped my guess is seals were resealed.

Random pet peeve from the last episode... there was a lot of discussion about how the boys couldn't kill the Leviathans. Which, technically, is true.

But they full well know that hacking off the heads is damned effective (if only temporarily)... and keeping said heads away from the bodies is (presumably) permanent.

And this never, ever came up. Yeah, it's not the best solution in the world... but they've been in far worse situations before.

chopping the head off and isolating it from the body is kind of time consuming, and they had like five leviathans on them at the same time, one of whom was presumably the most powerful.

Lopping off a few heads and leaving the Levis to regenerate would still buy more time. Ultimately not a big deal, it was just the usual Supernatural plot hole of the week. These little things come up a lot. This one in particular just kind of annoyed me.

I wonder where the other Pagan Gods are...that lady pagan god said in season 5 that there's billions of them...

We already have met Osiris this season and we will meet another in episode 12, Chronos.

I only recall the monsters from purgatory and the two witches.

Before season 5, did Sam and Dean meet Pagan Gods? Cause if so, why did they look SHOCKED to see Pagan Gods in the Motel episode?

Osiris was from episode 4, Dean's trial.

Those weren't gods and yes they have faced gods before back in season 1, a Norse god posed as the scarecrow

The reason they were shocked was not because of the gods but the overwhelming amount of gods in one place.

This.

There were also the two Pagans posing as a happy suburbian couple. The Christmas episode in season 3. I don't think they were ever given official Godly names.

I don't know if they count as Pagan Gods, but there was also Samhain in season 4 and whatever that Scarecrow was back in S1.

leshii, kali, odin, baldur, ganesh, mercury, zao shen, baron samedi, veritas, atropos, osiris, the vanir, loki/trickster and mr and mrs carrigan (pagan god's) are all deities that have appeared in the show. however, loki/trickster turned out to be the angel gabriel. also you could probably even add eve and castiel to that list.

From TV Line:
Exclusive: Supernatural Resurrects Vampire Diaries' Sara Canning For a Hot Date with Dean!

Ex-Vampire Diaries star Sara Canning is about to become the latest notch on Dean Winchester’s belt.
TVLine has learned exclusively that Supernatural has tapped Canning to guest star as a lust interest for Jensen Ackles’ demon warrior.

She’ll play Lydia, a character executive producer Sera Gamble describes as “wry, independent, and as fun-loving as Dean.” Gamble adds that she and Dean “have a memorable evening that takes an unexpected turn.”

The original casting breakdown for Lydia took things a step further, describing their encounter as a “sizzling one-night stand.”

Canning, who played Elena and Jeremy’s beloved Aunt Jenna on Diaries until she was killed off in last May’s bloodbath, will appear in Supernatural‘s 13th episode (slated to air in late January).

Supernatural‘s fall finale airs Friday at 9/8c on The CW.

The plot hole annoying me most about the show at the moment is that you CAN kill the Leviathian. They've always been pretty good at showing the boys and Bobby doing research on their latest enemies in the past, I don't know why they've suddenly decided to make them incapable of reading a few books. Different legends claim that Leviathan can be killed by either the Archangel Michael or Gabriel (or both, there's a little confusion). That may not be the easiest solution (what with Gabriel being dead and Michael in the cage), but I'm surprised it hasn't even been mentioned yet.

They are not following the mythologies on Leviathans. They are making their own rules and interpretations. Levithans don't exist in the SPN world like they do in ours.
