Looks like the episodes ahead are going to be interesting.

Counting down the days until new episodes air.

Glad the winter hiatus is only one month. Should go by quickly due to the holidays.

they could always go to death or crowley to save bobby. But if he really is gone man I am so sad they did it.

They aren't going to go to Crowley, he's not going to resurrect him Bobby for the hell of it, he's going to want something in return, and the boys have learned nothing good comes from demon deals.

As for Death, the Winchesters are on his **** list after they summoned him this season, plus they've learned that the dead should remain dead because all the unintended consequences of their many resurrections, it screws up the natural order of things.

I know I was just throwing out more ways if he was to be brought back.

Maybe Bobby could now become an angel or be the new imbodiment of Castiel if Mesha Collins doesn't return.

It doesn't work that way, plus hunters get cremated*.

*Rufus being an exception since he was Jewish.

Humans cannot becum angelz, not even on thiz show! And who can make him an angel anyway? Only God can do that and why would he even do that?Hes absent! Bobby died, like he was supposed to, like a HUMAN! So cut it.

I don't think Bobby is going to die. It seems to me like he is the only character outside of Sam and Dean that it is absolutely essential doesnt die... like it'd break some golden rule.

Don't ask me when he became so neccesary, but he did. It didn't have to be Bobby. They could have chosen another character to develop that the Winchesters would become so dependant on for support, and the audience so dependant on to break up the brothers dynamic... but they didnt. They chose Bobby :)

Killing him off just seems like an idiot move.

If i'm right, and he does survive, may I just say that was absolutely my fave episode this season and one of my fave episodes of all time. I could not stop crying pretty much the whole way through, and it really made me remember what it is about Bobby that we all love. Really made me stop taking him for granted.

I think Bobby has to die in order for Sam and Dean to fully grow up and develop further and not always rely on others to guide them in to the right path but start making decisions on their own and make their bond stronger.

I just think the dynamics of a tv show are difficult to work if you kill EVERYONE off... you need at least one consistent side character who makes it to the end IMO.

And that's Bobby.

The only time he should be killed off, is in the series finale. And I wanna see him go to heaven before even that satisfys me.

If they are planning this as the last season then killing Bobby makes sense as it turns up the tension and makes the fight more personal. If this isn't the last season then I'm going to miss the character in the next season but not this one.

If the show is going to bring either Cas or Bobby back then I would rather get Cas back since I´d like to see what a normal angel can do against a leviathan plus he would be a great foil to play against should the writers decide to have Sam and Dean set Michael and Lucifer free.

That's why I hope there's no season 8 if they end up killing off Bobby.

Not because I'll be ******** they killed Bobby, but that I don't think the show will be as strong without him to interact with.

yeah, they either have to bring him or Cas back, there's needs to be a supporting cast to add some levity.

It's a name. Nothing wrong with him calling him Dick unless you've got your head in the gutter. Yes, Dean was calling him a Dick by using it but who cares really. Good episode.

My head's not in the gutter. I'm just disappointed in how immature the writers are being by naming him "Dick". It was obviously done for joke purposes because its been nothing but double entendres ever since his appearance. "I hate Dick." "The Rise of Dick." "Dick is coming."

That's basically what i'm saying :)

But I think it's more important to keep someone like Bobby around because it keeps things grounded. Like Xander in Buffy in a way.

You've got this series full of angels and demons and even sam and dean have their fair share of weird and wonderful quirks... Bobby is the 'everyman' in a sense. The guy who brings the Winchesters back down to earth, reminds them what it's like to be human.

Cas, while being a great supporting character who I miss a lot, is not as important to me as Bobby because he doesn't provide that function.

i dont think it would be bad if they did or didnt bring back either if there is a next season.

Well Whedon's gone on record as saying that the final season of Buffy fully intended to killer Xander, and they changed it pretty late in the game... just saying...

That said, I agree with the crowd that thinks it was Bobby's time to die. The character, while amazing, had just become too much of a security blanket. If there was a problem, the boys could call Bobby. If the boys needed saving, they had Bobby. Honestly I think the only reason his character stuck so much was because the fans loved him.

I loved the character too, but all stories have their course. His was told (and concluded) in this episode.

Do I think he could pop back up? Certainly. This is Supernatural. They resurrect people more than Marvel and DC do. I mean, c'mon, there's a reason they kept the end of the episode ambiguous. Is Bobby gone, or is Bobby a ghost and may show up to save the day? We don't know. I honestly hope he passed over. As the Reaper noted, he's earned it. Plus they did the whole ghost-saving-the-boys gag with John at the end of season 2.

it would be great once the series finale happens we see john/bobby in heaven together.

Well, lets not go that far... :o

Dick is a real name. A once somewhat popular name in US. It is also short for Richard. Many humans have that name or nickname. Yes, the writers used it as a double meaning, but it fits him and he's not the first corporate power type that I have seen in a film or TV with the name Dick. None of that matters though, because it is a real name that has been around for many many years, and isn't a name the writer's made up. Complaining about it is frivilous.

Alright, so maybe that's an exaggeration.

Though one of the few characters I can think of that dies more than they do is Jean Grey.

Charmed is the single biggest offender when it comes to killing and resurrecting characters endlessly. Every other week, one of the sisters would die or they would temporarily resurrect their grandmother or mother to help them out. Death was literally meaningless on that show.

Except when it came to Shannen Doherty, of course. :o
