hmmm you know I'm kind of on the fence about Arnold coming back. He didn't really seem like Arnold in that little Cameo. I hope he gets himself back into shape before he does anymore action flicks

Same here. It was cool to have him in the film briefly just for the sake of it being an old school type action film but he seemed like he wasn't trying.

Cool news about Sly wanting to make it a trilogy. I'm glad Eric Roberts was cast as that particular villian, I just have a hard time seeing Russell in that role.

Correct let's recap he had big ears, made some statement about being a wrestler in college, then beat a major bad guy. His part was

That cauliflower ears scene was painful to watch.

I'd like to see Carl Weathers in the sequel too.

The fights might be easier to follow on the smaller tv screen. The big screen plus shaky- cam, is just too much to follow.

Couture had no reason what so ever, to be in this. Put in Norris, Tony Jaa, Snipes and Van Dam. I wouldn't mind it if Van Dam was a baddie in the sequel...or anyone of them for that matter. So long as they're in the movie.

Agreed. I remember Stallone mentioning he thought Couture could become the next big action star and what I saw of Couture from an acting and action standpoint in The Expendables wasn't even worthy of a cable TV action star. Sly didn't paint him in a good light whatsoever in any aspect. I think the big winner(s) that came out of this movie was Jason Statham easily and Dolph/Crews to a lesser degree.

Yes, Statham was definitely the high point of this movie. I was disappointed that Jet Li wasn't showcased much more, as he's probably the most skilled and experience fighter in the whole movie. I like Lungdren in the movie, but the fact that they welcomed him back at the end felt fake to me.

Like i've heard others say, if it weren't for the stars, this movie is easily in the catagory of a DTV flick.

Well he did give them the intel they needed.

I want to see Dwayne Johnson in for the sequel for sure. Now that he's out of the kiddy films, this would be a good step in his career. Terry needs a fight scene. I'd also like to see Liam Neeson or Kiefer Sutherland.

The names I want to see added to the cast for the sequel:

Kurt Russell
Jean Claude-Van Damme
Wesley Snipes
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson
and
Clint Eastwood (in a cameo)

I would also like to see another Director take over like John McTiernan!

Danny glover and mel gibson need to make a cameo ala arny and bruce in 2.

I didn't think Coutore was THAT bad. It was a bit wooden but kind of worked for his character in a way plus keep in mind this is his first film.

I also didn't find it fake that they took Dolph back. They did a great job painting the group as a band of brothers who have seen horrors that most men never will. Also, yes he did give them the intel. Another thing to keep in mind is that Sly makes numorus notes that Gunner is using and on junk (heroin) and Barney is all about second chances and seeing the good in people.

I think the drug angle was kind of neat and would have liked that to have been explored a bit more, hopefully some deleted scenes in the dvd.

Dolph looked to be in his best shape ever and would love, love, LOVE to see him cast as Sabertooth.

I don't know if you are being sarcastic but I like the cast, even Coutere or however you spell it. They all are "brothers" and they played their parts well. I say bring them all back and Arnold's team as well. :o

Why is everyone jumping on Coutore? He barely even had any scenes.

I thought it was awesome that a UFC fighter went one on one with a wrestler. Anyone else think this was cool while watching it?

I did and I thought there's no way in hell Austin stood a chance against him, even though I thought he'd beat him in the movie. This movie is just bad arse in so many ways.

Hahaha, I just had an idea and was wondering if anyone else would be down with having someone like Gary Busey as the next bad guy? I don't know why I thought of him really but I think he would make a good villian for one of the sequels.

Gary Busey would be a cool villian for the next film. Carl Weathers would be neat to have in it too, as would Wesley Snipes

I think he'd be a perfect choice. Gary Busey is one of my favorite line delivery actors of all-time. No matter what he says he just makes me laugh. He's my favorite character in Point Break. "Utah, get me two!!"

:awesome:

I think i'll watch that tonight, it's been years.

I don't know why but he just popped in my head and I think he would be great as a villian, or some kind of contact for the team.

I agree Matt Mortem, I would also want Weathers to join the cast. You know who I would also want to be in a sequel...
Bill Duke.

Busey should be some shady contact who creates a distraction for the team by firing madly in the building and sacrificing himself, going out a crazy ass sonofa*****.

Hahaha! Yes!!

Right before he starts shooting wildly at whoever's coming he has to say one of his weird ass lines that he gives people in real life. What was that one he was known for saying? Something like "I'll pull your liver out of your endocrine system". What a crazy SOB.

I think Arnie should have his own expendables team:

Arnold, Van Damme, Seagal, The Rock, Danny Trejo, Chuck Norris and Sam Worthington...what? no love for Sam?, well it was that or John Cena, your call. :woot:

I'll only accept Worthington in the sequel if he has a mullet, nuff said.

Personally i'll only accept him if the rest of the crew give him a hard time the entire movie.
