Borat's funny because he's a Jewish guy satirizing racism. Same thing for Dave Chappell or whoever else you want to mention.

Reminds me of people saying that Sarah Silverman shouldn't make fun of Britney's kids or even Britney herself.

I've never found Sarah Silverman very funny, I want to like her, but I just can't find the appeal in her comedy.

Satirizing racism is funny

I agree. I am not for censorship for I believe in the freedom of speech. But with that said, people should keep in mind that everything they say and do come with consequences. If I don't like what I hear or say, I just turn the tv or radio off. However, just because I don't like what I see or hear, it doesn't mean that I should stop others from watching or listening. Let the people decide for themselves what's funny or what's not.

As someone who does "edgy" really out there stuff, I think it's that someone is saying things that you yourself would never say that loud. The thing I love is hearing the reaction ..the "ohuuhhh should I laugh?" then break into laughter. It really is a great noise lol

Carlos Mencia IS NOT funny and is a hack joke theif. Don't compare him and Cheppelle. Cheppele is a really funny guy and a very smart writer. Yeah he did the Lil' John bit a bit much but let's not forget that it was also the same time comedy central started getting more "hands on" with his show.

To the person who said racism isnt funny, wow your an idiot. This is exactly like the argument I had with one of my high school english teachers, Mr. Pape, who said he "didn't agree with Mel Brooks, making fun of nazis isn't funny" to which I said "really? cuz I think making fun of people who hate someone for no real reason other than someones race or religion IS funny. No one likes nazis unless.... Hmmm...Pape...isn't that german sir?"

So yes, making fun of nazis is funny and making fun of racisim is funny too.

I didn't think Borat was funny, but when people make jokes cause its their profession and it is racist others shouldn't get mad because its a joke. Have fun and laugh about it, at least their not being serious.

Thats what I think. When we see a comedian on stage doing racial humor everyone laughs and it's no big deal (though it also does depend on the white performers some like cross get away while others don't) everyone understands it's just a joke about generalizations and not meant in a hurtful manner.
