I don't like 'em. Way too colorful. And the tonality is way off from the previous two films. Meh.

I'd also like to point out that Angel's left leg is bent at the knee. Someone stated his feet were in a "standing" formation, but he is indeed flying in that photo--even with the wings retracted.

Like he's gliding in a way.
its almost like hes an.........angel:eek:

People can interpret these how they like..

These poster reveal LOTS about what these characters will be going through in the movie. None of them are looking at the camera. Rogue, Beast and Wolverine are looking down. Angel and Jean are looking up. Storm has her eyes closed.

It looks like Angel just wants to rise up and fly, break free.

The classic Phoenix pose is amazing. The open arms draws attention to the body and face.

The loner Wolverine has a big effect. We have seen him thrash away but we havent seen him as calm. Him sitting down suggests he is tired or lonely.

Storm is leaning against a pole, like Wolverine is leaning against the cylinder. They are both lonely...and we know they hook up. I think the fog is a reference to her powers. She looks strong and powerful.

Beast is just stood there. There are soldiers towards the bottom of the poster. I think this has something to do with the cure. He isnt smiling. Its like he is being shown for all to see.

Rogue is standing on her own too feet. She doesnt look scared. She is looking down like Beast so she too may have something to do with the cure.

Overall, I like these posters. They give a powerful scence of the film. Its darker, its serious. 'Take A Stand' suggests that they will all be standing up for what they think is right. Angel is standing against his father and accepting his mutation. Jean will take a stand about how she has been treated by Xavier. Storm and Wolverine will take a stand to stop the trouble created. Beast and Rogue will take a stand and decide their own futures.

At the end of the day they are for bus shelters. People will see them after they have been shopping and something. If they saw somebody smiling and it all be happy and light it would 'just be another poster'. This will make people look, and look again. These are going to be big so they will be seen by many people. I like them
Excellent post Electrix

Well, for starters I would make the type a little smaller, probably knock out the caps on "A Stand," so it reads as "Take a stand," as opposed to "Take A Stand." Next I would position the text on each poster differently (and it strikes me as ridiculous that this wasn't done in the first place) because it looks awkward and silly in the same place on each poster. The text is colliding with the characters in certain shots, and while that might be fine in some instances, it isn't in any of these. I might go with a different font, too. Not something too different--another sans-serif font, to be sure, but not a novelty typeface.

I disagree, especially about the caps. The circular shape of a single, sans-serif 'a' in between two words is unattractive. The triangular shape of a capital A is just more pleasing to the eye and the tracking around it can be tighter because of it's shape. Furthermore, having three capitals creates a more even height and unifies the three words, creating one cohesive element.

The identical placement of the type on all posters was a smart move. Each shot is very different from the others, featuring different layouts and different colours. There needed to be one standard element across all the posters to connect them.

I might agree that the larger type could be smaller, but not by much. I'd say it could be made a bit smaller with some slightly looser kerning, but it should still take up the same amount of horizontal space.

Sorry if we already talked about this (not searching through 13 pages for a simple question). What exactly is behind Rogue? It looks like a car... but at the same time you could make it a sentinel. Any thoughts or suggestions?

these are great, i like the fact that they're simple compositions but the characters are framed very well and they show a bit of character. Understated but great, and Halle's killin' em with that facial expression lol!!!

I'm such a ****** for just now noticing Jean doing the classic "Phoenix pose". Electrix brought it to my attention.

I think it's a car.

The fact that Rogue has gotten poster makes me wonder even more what her role will be in the movie. How does she combat the unknown enemies of the Danger Room and Alcatraz? Does she get superstrength?

The posters are awesome. Can't wait to see those exact type poster but with the Brotherhood and other bad guys.

I WOULD TORTURE,KILL,MOLEST,RAPEetc. for a magneto one!  :)

I thought up some ideas for two posters.

Juggernaut's could have him breaking through a brick wall like he's running towards you.

While Kitty's could show her in the X-Mansion, with a solid half of her in one room, with a phased half sticking out into a hallway.

Wouldn't that be sweet, I'd do a dance right there in my seat :)

These posters are absolutely terrible.
