Ive said it before, if you really think thats all wolverine is about just slicing, dicing and looking angry, you clearly dont understand his character
That's the problem - that's what a lot of people think.

Man, I sarcastically rag on a poorly-designed marketing hack-job and suddenly the politically correct police coming flying in with buckets of righteous indignation. Ha!

Riiiight, and that's exactly what should be emphasized in the promotion of a super-hero action franchise - the characters' sensitive sides.

Brilliant!

The one of Beast is hanging a block down from my park..I just saw it today..I huge smile crossed my face lol.

I know, how dare they show actual character development in a promotional poster. In case you didn't know, that was sarcasm, might as well tell you since it seems you can't look beyond the actual print of something to find the meaning behind it..

I`d steal one of those posters in front of a cop and take my chances running just to get one

hmm...i wonder if you can actually get done for stealing a bus stop poster.......

I think you're confusing "sarcastic" with "obnoxious".

I've seen these posters popping up all over the city...and so far traffic hasn't come to a standstill, the subways are all running, and the crime rate hasn't gone up.

In fact, the Wolverine poster I spotted today was only 4 blocks from where "Rent" is playing, and I didn't see a single passerby stop and start belting out 'Seasons of Love' when they saw the poster.

I think these are the only places where people are fixating over the posters.

And I DO work in marketing. We thought they were pretty cool.

Ahem. Actually, jackass, I've seen both films and I have a perfect understanding of what the posters are trying to evoke. I'll repeat again, ad nauseum, so that you have no problem understanding: these posters are poorly conceived, executed, and do nothing to build hype or interest except for peeps like yourself who slavishly clamor for anything X. Bottom line, they are a failure from an artistic and marketing standpoint.

You beg to differ? Fine, beg all you effing want. I still think they suck and taken in context with what I've seen thus far, reinforce my gut feeling that this franchise will come to a screeching halt after this film hits the screens. I truly hope I'm wrong because I want it to succeed but all evidence points to FOX not giving a shyte. And if they don't then why should I?

Really?! What a coinkidink! I think you're confusing "sarcastic" with "obnoxious" too! I won't dare to venture why, though. And your implication that having a marketing job and liking the posters somehow certifies them is laughable. Granted, taste is a relative thing but IMO, anyone with a modicum of design sense can see the problem.

Really? And how do you know this...seeing as how these posters have only been in circulation for less than a week, how are they poorly executed?

I've seen them show up on construction walls and and phone kiosks this week. So far no graffiti or public lynchings. And this is NY.

And how are they a failure from "an artistic and marketing standpoint"? The movie isn't out yet. There are no box office receipts or dvd sales yet. There hasn't even been a second trailer. It's a little early to be crying failure.

Here's an even better one: try answering these without resorting childish names.

You beg to differ? Fine, beg all you effing want. I still think they suck and taken in context with what I've seen thus far, reinforce my gut feeling that this franchise will come to a screeching halt after this film hits the screens.

Ah, now it's all clear. You think it sucks. Typical know-it-all fanboy venom. Read AICN a few times and suddenly you're a moviemaking expert.

I truly hope I'm wrong because I want it to succeed but all evidence points to FOX not giving a shyte. And if they don't then why should I?

Again, what evidence is that? AICN? Have you seen this movie?

How are they a failure? Because it's not marketed as a big, dumb action flick?

X1 & 2's character ads were bland and boring, IMO. That didn't stop the movies from turning out great.

Ads mean nothing when it comes to how the movie will turn out.

Demento,

Attack the subject at hand, not your peers on this board. Please knock off the name-calling.

Not really. I do work in marketing, but I can't say if this is a good campaign or not because I haven't seen the movie.

If I did, I would know if it was a good way to promote the characters, and the tone of the film.

I thought they were cool. Not from a *professional* standpoint...but as a fan.

You're the one crying marketing and artistic failure like you actually know what you're talking about.

No prob. I'm done here anyway.

ANGEL HAS LANDED IN LA!

i was driving home from school today and on lincoln boulevard in venice theres a huge billboard with the angel poster on it (horizontal bill board) and to the far right is "take a stand" its a great teaser poster!

ill have a pic tomorrow! :D

Cool!

I'm practically taking different routes to the bus each night to see what other posters I can find. :-)

The auctions for the angel and wolverine posters went for $70+ each. Now I made a good choice of buying it right away instead of bidding.

great! the posters are all poping around the usa, just wondering wich horrid and poor marketing we will be having in spain...........

by the way i'm friends with one of the guys that dress the bus stops with posters, but he has no idea of what i'm talking about:(
