Tarsem Singh Offered to Helm The Brothers Grimm: Snow White

Wow, I honestly don't feel it's as bad as people are saying. Not the greatest trailer in the world, but not terrible.

^ You aren't really judging the trailer because you are just so ready to like this version

Well in a sense you are right. There are much worse trailers out there. But having said that, this one sure isn't all that good. And that is compounded by it coming on the heels of another one that seemed so much better.

It seems like they went too over the top maybe? The trailer at least makes it seem so. I understand they're really going for a pure over the top comedy here but I think it seems a little too over the top.

This is so predictable: two Snow White movie trailers come out within a few days, one family-friendly, one trying so hard to be "cool and dark," and most of us commenting on them online are going nuts over the "cool and dark" take and bashing the light fantasy-comedy take. And I'm not going to buck that trend.

I want to like this movie. Tarsem doing a Snow White movie with Julia Roberts as the Queen, that excited me - yes, even the casting of Julia Roberts; I loved the thought of Julia Roberts, this past-her-prime Hollywood star leading lady, former America's sweetheart, playing this supremely vain witch. This is one unfortunately-edited trailer, though; I doubt it's quite as comic as it appears here, but most of the jokes land with a resounding thud, and the whole thing just looks tone-deaf. It's not the movie, though, it's the trailer, so it could still be good.

The problem with the movie is that its kids friendly which is fine but I don't know one kid that would like this movie. They made it too kid friendly and too dumb.

i'm seeing this because armie hammer is pretty much amazing.

anyone else get sick and tired when people say well this is a different audience it is for kids

give me a break that is such a lame cop out excuse for bad comedy, writing, childish performances, etc.

pixar movies are aimed at kids and they dont talk down to the kids with stuff like - "Snow Way" "Say Hello To My Little Friend" but in turn educate them in the process

same with twilight well oh it is a different demographic it is for females

last time i checked females also like intelligently told romance with good acting with believable chemistry with good writing

bad writing, bad story telling, bad acting, etc. is still bad no matter the demographic

My cousin saw the film at a sneak preview last week. She overall liked it and said that the teaser was very misleading. While it's a movie for kids, it was very cleverly written and surprisingly had good acting.

Keep in mind though, that she isn't the type who can breakdown a movie. She's more of a casual film goer. She did like how the Dwarfs were supper buff. There were a scene where they were shirtless, and greased up.

I asked her about Tarsem, and while she hasn't seen Imortals, she has seen The Fall and The Cell. She says that the film is probably his least 'flamboyant' movie. It's toned down. Also, there were a lot of visual effects that were not done, so it's hard to gauge it completely.

is any one watching the grim tv show?i higly reocmmed checking it out.

Could you ask her if she's seen Ella Enchanted or Stardust and if so, how this films compares to those in tone?

Both of these Snow White movies seem to be going the opposite direction. Both taking the very worst aspects of Tim Burton's Alice and dividing them into seperate movies.

Her opinion is just as valid as anyone here.

That poster just makes me even more positive in my opinion that this film will indeed suck.

And I'm actually looking forward to the other Snow White film very much.

How can you get such an impression from a poster?
