Im still stoked as hell for it - we don't have any officially confirmed recount of the ending, we're left with a vague idea of what may or may not happen to a few characters and we definitely don't know itll all play out on screen. Admittedly, we're probably struggling with the 'HOW WILL IT WORK!?' due to our own limited perceptions as to what we can and cannot enjoy seeing.

Exactly. I was completely spoiled for TDK and it didn't ruin it at all for me. No matter how many spoilers and speculations I read, it doesn't come close to seeing it through fruition. Even things that sound bad usually don't be as bad as I fear. *shrugs*

Me too! My GF of 6 years is into theater so I've fallen in line and enjoy it a lot at this point. Just went and saw Les Mis for the first time in Boston like 6 months ago, 2nd row orchestra - it was amazing.

Alun Armstrong is brilliant in the 10th Annivesary production. Great actor too.

Hey, Shape: did you see my question about the monorail?

I noticed it in the background of one trailer. Wondering of you ever see it prominently. Would be a nice callback.

Nope, not prominent. Sadly.

Not really spoilers but how many of you guys knew that Rachel died? Did it ruin it for you? Just curious.

I knew about it but it didn't affect me. Probably has to do with me not liking Rachel anyway. :p

I was surprised that she didn't die by falling into lava trying to catch the One Ring, but not surprised overall.

Without spoiling it much Shape, have you mentioned yet any of the context of Bane's origin? Just curious if the
bald kid in the jail cell is a young Bane, especially after we just saw the set photo of Joey King WITH hair

King was wearing wigs during May and June 2011 during the time when she was not filming.

Would u rather...shave off all the hair on ur head or have a tattoo of a toilet on your arm??

On December 9th, 2011, U.K. newspaper the Surrey Comet reported that young actress Leilah de Meza had been offered the role of "young Talia al Ghul" earlier in the year for The Dark Knight Rises but that the mother of the actress ultimately declined it because it required her daughter to shave her head.

I had no idea she was going to die.

Will be very let down if the ending is as described. And it doesn't make me some fanboy who is only mad because it's not like the comics. It makes me someone who doesn't like endings that
suck and revolve around a character introduced part way into the 3rd film in the story. Not to mention Batman and Catwoman moving on, chilling in a freaking cafe! I have a right to think that sucks. And I will not just blindly call it amazing because Nolan came up with it. And for reference, The Dark Knight is my second favorite movie of all time, so this is coming from someone that loves these films and what Nolan has done so far.

Shape, do we get any visual explanation of Bane's mask? By that I mean "more than an offhand line about how it keeps him from feeling pain or whatever", but some sort of visual indication of how it works?

Also, I truly believe that if people are outraged by the ending, it'll be purely because of a stupid, fanboy-ish reason: because it's not perfectly in line with the comics. People will take things out of context and be blinded by their fanboy-isms, which is quite sad IMO because the ending plays out so well on screen.

Actually it doesn't have anything to do with the comics. Comic writers have jumped the shark numerous times over the decades with [BLACKOUT]other people becoming Batman.[/BLACKOUT] I don't like it when the comics do it and I don't like the idea of a filmmaker doing it either.

At least until you wait and see how it plays out.

Well, buddy...

If you loved TDK and for some reason HATE this, then I don't value your opinion when it comes to films (this is coming from a film production major who has/is studying all aspects of film). The whole film and series revolves around Bruce Wayne and Batman. Calm yourself. People are freaking out over 1 minute of screen-time.

Did the ending of TDK "revolve" around Lucius typing his name into the machine? NO. Or would you describe the whole ending of TDK as Batman riding on the Batpod away from cops and up a ramp? NO. There is so much more to this film than what people are discussing. It's so frustrating to read, to be honest.

People are allowed to think what they want, if they are not happy with what they have read, that is up to them....I bet most of them are still going to the movie. I know I am :)

Cool thanks for the "heads up" Magnar! :woot:

I can't wait to see how it plays out. Nolan knows how to end a movie, that's for sure. I'm not worried.

Butbutbut... Internet! Outrage! Prejudgement!

I'm with you, Shape. I'm the biggest Two-Face fan you're gonna find, and I love the way this series used Dent's character to propel drama forward. Much as I hate the idea of a dead Two-Face, I like a well told story more.

So I went back to that French reviewer site and found a website that you can input the URL and translate the page for you.

According to the translator - the quote the Reviewer claims Bane says is:

"I wonder what I would station wagon first: your spirit...now your leotard."

Note that this is merely being posted because I lol'd.

I think in some cases, like a lot of internet forums, negativity is thrived on with regards to any aspect I understand where you are coming from with you having seen the film, I haven't but if you feel frustrated I would just ignore it.
