The Dark Knight Rises TDKR SPOILERS (read at your own risk)

I totally didn't think to check the box office numbers before forming my opinion. My mistake.

Ha.

Look, I know I'm in the minority. But the fact that Nolan is considered deep says more about the state of popular films than it does about him.

Compared to Green Lantern, The Dark Knight looks like the three colors trilogy or an Ozu flick, I'll give you that. But I'm not big on grading on a curve.

Again, you continue to attempt debating the "depth" of the movie with me when I never even mentioned it in my posts.

I mean, there's no wink. The story ends. We know what happens, and we have a good idea of what WILL happen.

Any ending can be considered open, because there are endless possibilities we can guess about as to what happens in the future in that world (which we will never see). If Bruce were to remain Batman and live on, we'd be guessing at all the things he'd be doing after this, right? But no one will ever know for sure. This can also be said for the endings of Spider-man 3, Return of the Jedi, etc.

But the thing is that most people would probably prefer that.
At least we would be speculating about the guy these movies were supposed to be about.

I agree with the realism, but there is a butt load of unrealistic stuff in these and almost all movies. The whole premise itself is unrealistic.

Sure we do. But does Bruce?

Like Nolan said, how long can he allow the pain to control his life? Nolan is just trying to be realistic about the whole thing.

i belive not having batman active for 8 years is just a stratergy really by nolan. this is his baby and he woulnt want comics or films explaining what happened during those years. nolan is very protective. do i make sence?????? i mean dont you think he knows about black mask,h. strange, penguin, riddler, hush and deadshot they really are nolanverse material.

it's already been confirmed that
Blake knows Bruce's dual identity from an early point, so why would the film makers make such a big deal about him finding the Bat Cave and the suit, as if it were some big mystery to him?

Has anyone stopped to think that maybe Selina's story could be the possible open end that Freeman and Bale were talking about in interviews? Maybe she learns something from Bruce's ideals and decides to take up her own new mantle, while Bruce stops being batman for whatever reason...
pure speculation, obviously.

edit** I reposted this from earler because it's getting quite boring watching people continue argue about something that's been confirmed to be
untrue.

According [blackout]TheShape and R2ind[/blackout]

Blake indeed already knows Bruce Wayne is Batman earlier in the film.

The suit rising while he's in the cave is not a revelation, therefore, that Bruce Wayne is Batman.

OK, how about this?

Can Bruce ever truely live be able to live this life? Will he be able to stay away from Gotham? Is he truly past the pain of his parents death?

I think people are discussing the other guy because he's more of an unknown. Besides, most of those questions might be made moot within the context of the film.

What exactly has been confirmed to be untrue?

Blake never lays his eyes on a Batsuit.

This is what I am referencing. You know, the part where you laughed at my opinion that Nolan is not deep.

Not trying to perpetuate but I thought this would refresh your memory.

Why did you requote this from pages back? I thought we had already discussed and moved way beyond this? lol

I'm sorry. Got confused as to who I was talking to, since you guys have similar names.

No more Inception talk from me. Ever. Honest. :)

Now will people please stop arguing over this particular conjecture!!?? It's pointless!
I really think it's selina who might have the open end.

Blake, pretty early on, guesses that Bruce is Batman. I don't remember if he had it told to him directly. When he is going to the cave, he has a GPS. I remember thinking, while I was watching, "did he get the GPS from Bruce through the will?" I need to see it again. But, yea the block rising up out of the water when he crosses on top of it, yep. Throwing his badge away, yep.

[blackout]He doesn't see it, or rather, the shot doesn't show that he sees it, perhaps. But this looks like that vomit emoticon on the Bruce/Selina/Alfred cafe in Italy thing again.[/blackout]

Blake never lays his eyes on a Batsuit.

So that would mean that the ending is totally wrong, or that it is a Red Robin suit or something? Good, I think people can live with that.

Shape, not sure if anyone asked this one but I'm curious. Did you see it in IMAX or a regular theater?

Blake never lays his eyes on a Batsuit.

And there are no implications whatsoever that he will find it? Like none of those cheesy stuff in other movies where you see him bump a button that you know will reveal something?
