I think it's "The turning Tables" scene.

Blake leads Chris Judges character into a trap by using himself as bait. Batman will save him and they'll get the information out of Judge about where the doomsday device is.

Here's the whole of the rumor:
the runtime is from a guy who works at an IMAX theater and was explaining to me that there was some talk about putting the film on Two projectors and syncing them up so that you could have a runtime longer than the standard IMAX projector could go for, without having to do a intermission or something.

so essentially TDKR would be packaged as two films. 35MM and IMAX and when combined and synced they'd be TDKR: complete.

The initial confusion on Fandango with being reported as an hour and 52 minutes COULD be from the idea that the 35MM portion of the film is an 1h 52m and an additional 60(+?) minutes of IMAX footage should be packaged with it as well.

Bare in mind this was all just speculation about what could happen and is no way a confirmation

I don't really subscribe to this theory. Getting another IMAX projector and having a base for installation isn't an easy thing to accomplish, and it's also extremely pricey($500k for an IMAX projector). And having a duel IMAX 3D projector is much different thing, as it still relies on the same length IMAX platters as the regulars.

The length issue with IMAX is due to the platters, not that the projector can't handle it. And I don't see movie theaters coughing up $500k in every IMAX theater, just to be able to run TDKR so that it can accompany the extra 2 min in running time it needs. And furthermore, I don't see Nolan going over the 2hr50min barrier that the IMAX platters allow. My bet, is that the movie will be anywhere around 2hr45min or below in length.

Indeed, although I want to clarify: It wasn't getting another IMAX projector, it's a standard projector for the non IMAX scenes.

For the most part I'm pretty sure the IMAX company has been exploring ways to do this to have more feature films shoot more footage in IMAX.

So again it's not two IMAX projectors. If one was seeing it in IMAX that projector is already there and would be loaded up with TDKR IMAX footage and a standard projector would have the rest of the film and they'd be synced to play onto the screen in the order they appear on the film.
 
So in that hypothetical scenario would the 35mm prints not be blown up then?

I don't know, admittedly I'm not knowledgeable about these things and was talking candidly with someone.

But again, the theater would have to obtain more projectors, which is still costly. And overall, it sounds like too much of a hassle to try and make the movie work, just to circumvent the IMAX time restrictions. It's only an extra 2 min that is needed.

And would a regular projector even work properly on an IMAX screen?

If I talk to the guy again, I'll bring up these points.

But we could consult someone like TheChris or Film4life on here as they work in that field, maybe they could drop some further insight.
 
clearly batman will eject before said bomberooski goes off way out over the ocean, mysteriously picked up by some old dude in a boat I bet ;)
