I think the opposite. The TV spot voice is how he will sound and the trailer was over manufactured specifically for it.

But in the preview at cinema-con they had changed the prologue voice. That's why I think the muffling is the first rendition and the clearer version the finished.

Team Clear! :D

The TV spot voice sounded like the old man tuppence voice.

His limp isn't from TDK. That doesn't make any sort of actual sense.

Why would his injury last 8 years? It would have to be pretty critical to last that long and we KNOW at some point he walks fine without the cane.

If an injury persist for 8 years it's not going to suddenly clear up in 8 years and three months, especially with him coming back and fighting Bane and all that.

If I were to guess, I'd say the cane is a result of something crazy goatee-hermit-Bruce does in the beginning of the film. Shooting crossbows at maids inside his manor is surely not the only outrageous thing he'll do. Think of Bruce in the beginning of DKR.

Quite interesting. I never thought of that.

I think they shot some of the interior scenes in the prison in the fort and those steps we see. There was a rumor that Josh Pence was spotted in India, right? Maybe you're right, maybe it's not the prison, but something else entirely.

Josh Pence is a young Ra's, right? The Bruce that we see doing press ups and coming out of the jail cell is the current Bruce.

I think the India thing is in connection to Young Bane, and not Bruce. It seems so weird for him to be shipped out to the jail in Morocco, and then coming back, only to be put in Gotham jail.

I've been saying this kind of thing for a while. It's not from Bane, of that I'm pretty sure.

But the trailer voice sounds completely removed from its surroundings. It sounds
too much like amateur tinkering.

Team muffled.

Guessing he has stopped training. Did you forget the gun shot and knife to the intestines?

A gun shot he received wearing a somewhat bullet-proof Batsuit (otherwise that gunshot would have killed him).

Your arrogance is astounding, btw.

It's not arrogance, it's annoyance. This has been argued into the ground since the eight-year gap was first announced, and I'm frickin' sick it. We're beating dead horses, now.

You do realize that he's a man, right? Yeah, he ran to the batpod. Adrenaline is a powerful thing.

A highly-trained man in almost inhuman shape. He survived worse during his LOS training. trained to withstand pain, take on army, etc.

That doesn't make sense. He didn't rebuild Wayne Manor, someone else did. When it was done, he built the cave down there himself.

The Manor wasn't finished until after TDK.

So during the Gap he rebuilt the cave and did something with the Bat because.

Now perhaps you're suggesting he built this things without being Batman, fine....

I suppose that makes sense but it doesn't serve your argument and more than it serves mine.

It actually serves our argument more, Rag. He just rebuilt the cave for no reason?

Again, sorry, but no. He may have been inactive for the last two or three of those eight years, but not the whole eight years. It just doesn't make any sense.

The Bat cave has that feeling of the flashy weight set the out of shape guy buys. He's got everything planned out, buys the weight set, and it collects dust in his garage. Maybe Lucius and Alfred executed it. My feeling is a completely retired, deeply depressed, out of shape Bruce Wayne is forced to take up the mantle knowing he is not fit to do so. He'll do okay against henchmen, but Bane and Catwoman will destroy him. He is imprisoned, finds inspiration to get back into form, does, returns and kicks ass. :/ If he appears at all as Batman it may be to keep the ghost alive and keep the attention away from Harvey. Maybe :/

Yes, I'm speculating just as much as you guys are.

So no one thinks the cane is a result of a Bane-bat-back-breaking incident anymore?

I really NEED to see the crazy Bruce/maid Selina crossbow scene. It sounds too awesome. :hrt:

Cool little Tidbit: American Idol Finale Ratings were 20 Million Viewers. So that many people saw TDKR TV Spot :D

Exactly. Atleast some people can think with reason here.

Just a complete guess, but the limp could be something that happened to him just before he decides to 'retire'. Perhaps he has physically gone past his peak, so that he screws up doing something simple such as escaping from the cops. And then decides to call it a day. could even be a flashback.

Sort of like Old Bruce in Batman Beyond, if anyone remember that scene when he says,'Enough'.

What does any of the bold mean? Either way the cave was constructed POST TDK. We're almost 100% certain of that because there's no way they were fixing up the cave in TDK. The Manor wasn't even finished yet.

All your other ideas are fine, they just don't require 8 years. 3-4 years yes. He slowly retires and then is gone for years. That's enough to lose skill and health.

No, he was speaking over the loudspeakers/PA at the stadium. There's even youtube video with the footage.

Well I think the Trailer 3 voice sounds great and not amateur at all. :yay:

Team Clear, dammit!! :woot:

Now perhaps you're suggesting he built this things without being Batman, fine....

Absolutely he did. Consider Nolan's quote about him being "frozen in time". He has no reason being Batman. No good reason to suit up because of what happened in TDK. No other threats. Peace time is upon him. He's rebuilt his cave. He walks around with a cane night after night. Confident, because like his his job is done.

But he's not happy. Not fulfilled by any of this. Tate tries to help his Wayne persona come alive. And that inspires him a little bit. Then, there's something going down in Gotham. Something that breaks the peace. He rushes into the batsuit and prepares to intervene. Suddenly he learns. It's a trap! It has all been a ruse to resurge batman into the open so that Bane could take him out.

The rest you can figure yourself from that awesome third trailer.

I apologize, that was rude. I'm just being a dick.

I like debating this stuff. It doesn't get old to me. Though I'm not here as much as many of you.

I really feel he's been laying low the whole time. It makes for a more compelling return and an easier to swallow defeat at the hands of Bane (for me anyway). It's all just gut feelings based on the photos, trailers, set films, and interviews. Same as you guys.

Bane sounds so different in every trailer/TV spot/prologue/whatever.

I wonder if that's going to be the case in the actual film - you know, different tone, different accent in every scene... :D :D
