What's weird to me is that there is nothing NEW in this poster. There's nothing to start conversions. The broken Batman mask got people talking, made them want to see the movie. This poster just tells you that the movie exists.
It's like they've given up trying to get people excited about the movie, which is ridiculous.
But this is a Nolan movie.....a Nolan movie.

And the report of an execs screening was all a hoax. There was no standing ovation.![]()
The poster is not bad really. You guys are just disappointed because you wanted something new not rehash of the other posters.
If they had just used a different backdrop other then the teaser poster, it would be much more well received. Literally any other backdrop!
They took the first poster, changed the color palette, and photoshopped a picture of Batman on it without even trying to make him match the perspective of the background. It's lazy, unimaginative, and poorly executed. There's three adjectives besides "bad" that accurately describe this poster. Pick your favorite. The poster is not bad really. Exactly, and it deserves something better than this crap.![]()

It's a summer blockbuster. Most summer blockbusters, including the old TDK ones, have the hero standing around either in the cliche back to the camera shot or the cliche standing in front of a building or explosion shot.
The only posters that have been great in the Bat series are the Begins one, the Joker one behind the screen and the Joker one where he's standing in the street with his back to the camera.
The Inception ones weren't really inspired either. They're just posters for summer blockbusters, they're not high art, they don't need to be.
I'm not seeing the movie now. The poster ruined everything!
Give them some credit, there's yellow and orange in there too. It was probably a gradient map.![]()
I mean, the first poster + random Batman photo + red blob in the centre (multiply mode). I can't imagine something more cheap and uninspired.
Yeah I have no problems with the actual image. If it was just a different background...
