It will be interesting to see how this plays out.
When will we know the official runtime?

So Nolan will not only kill off Batman, but make the entire audience sit through a 3 hour epic? Dude's got some serious clout.

:o

Yes, but we're talking theatrical release. Not directors cut with supplemental material added in.

Out of curiosity though, is the Tales of the Black Freighter as effective in the film as it was in the comic? I never got to see the film that way and I've always been curious.

That's the Ultimate Cut. I only have the Director's Cut, which doesn't have the Black Freighter footage (thank goodness...it's my least favorite aspect of the book).

And it'll start with Batman already dead, then follow up rewinding to the events that led up to it!

:woot:

I would totally watch that. Oscah! :awesome:

It'd be ballsy as hell, no?

That was basically my idea of doing a Dark Knight Returns type of 'death' of batman, starting with Gordon making a speech in front of a memorial statue of Bats, then unfolding the story back to that point. Only to find out at the end that.....

Ok just to sum up this woman has worked oon Bale's previous films and with Nolan before and her husband let the cat out of the bag?

What is her and her husbands name again?

Ah, my mistake. I think I own the original theatrical cut, so you can understand my confusion.

My thoughts exactly. Nolan would be smacking us in the face with his giant cahones if he did that.

It just hit me. Batman Begins is almost 7 years old. Seems like it was just yesterday that it was nearly 3 years old and we were waiting on its first sequel. Unbelievable how time flies.

Not...quite the way I'd put it...but I get you.

:O

Haha...allow me to rephrase: I just think it would be an unnecessary, bold move. Not that doing stories in medias res can't work, I just think this one works better starting at the beginning. Especially after having just read Knightfall (well, volume one anyway...still working on acquiring Knightquest).

What a sugar high...these new posters, TV spots, banners, pics and now talk about the movie being 3+ hours...the disappointment of the 3rd one sheet reveal seems like a distant memory now :word:

Three hours?

Team I'll Believe It When I See It :o.

I come back and see people talking about TDKR being 3 hours.

Is this true - please tell me so. That would be unreal.

I don't think our brand of sensuality allows that much.

I have a feeling that Batman's identity as Wayne will be exposed openly in this movie. Maybe not until the end, but somehow it will.

With the idea of him 'dying', it would add some poignance and meaning behind it to the people that he was one of the most privileged of Gotham's 'sons' who decided to do the harder, more noble thing.

I thought it could be 2 hours 40 minutes or something like that. But if it's 3 hours, wow.
